Hi guys, I haven't been on here for years and years, so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I have a pair of 1947s that are on their last legs. I've had them for years - they're from back when Sugar Cane was still putting the Levis-looking tags and logo on everything.
I'm thinking of buying a new pair (despite the fact that prices have gone up about 50% since I first purchased them) and was wondering if the quality is still as good as it used to be.

Ok, so can anyone tell me the difference between the 2113 and the 2140? They look pretty much identical to me, but the 2113 is much cheaper on ebay.

BAM!
they have them in tortoise
for like 97
assuming thats the one you want...
See, that's the thing, I don't know if these are the ones i want. Apparently these (the rb2113s) are inferior to the normal wayfarers because they don't have the "tilt" (between the lens and the legs) and are made from shitty plastic. I want the standard good old-fashioned wayfarers...

More specifically, does anyone know what the 2113s are? They're not on the website but they seem to be available cheaper online than the other models.

So, I'm confused. I was on the ray ban website and noticed they had 4 or 5 different types of wayfarers, all of which looked pretty similar to me. I know there's the wayfarer, the wayfarer 2, the new wayfarer and so on, but there was a new wayfarer a few years back which is different to the new wayfarer that ray ban does now.
I remember reading that when Ray Ban redesigned their sunglasses, they got rid of the "tilt" and changed the plastic, apparently upsetting a lot of people. Does anyone know the product codes for the different types of wayfarers, or can anyone explain to me what has been done to the wayfarer throughout the years. I want to buy a new pair (I just lost my 50mm tortoise shell ones), but I have no idea if they were tilt ones or new wayfarers, or old new wayfarers or new new wayfarers, or any other kind of wayfarer for that matter.

Does such a thing exist? Where can I find it?
Or a non-sentimental Christmas YouTube vid?

Well, I wear a 31 in the 47s pre-soak. And I'm a 31 in Nudie RRDS. I don't know if that helps you at all...

Thing is, I bought them from History Preservation after they raised their prices above the $200 mark. And I had them imported into the UK, and got hit by customs.
Shipping would be free from the UK or the US, as I live in both countries. (Obviously not at the same time).

Holy markup batman!
Actually they do still make repros, but nice arcs.
What do you think a fair price would be? I would like to make my money back on these, especially considering they don't make them like this any more.

Four pairs of Sugar Cane jeans for sale. These jeans are no longer in production.
I have three pairs of unwashed 1947s, all in a 34 leg, with waist size 31, 32 and 34.
I also have one pair of unwashed 1945s, in a size 32 waist, also with a 34 leg.
I'm looking for around $270 a pair. I don't know if this is a fair price or not - I got hit up big time by customs, and am trying to cover my losses.

I think the origins of the low-slung jeans look actually came out of prison culture. Supposedly, as inmates weren't allowed to wear belts (because of the risk of hangings or use as a weapon), prisoners walked around with their pants very low. This is also the reason for loosely laced (or unlaced a la RUN DMC) sneakers, as shoe-laces weren't allowed in prison either.

I'm not sure whether I should be posting this in the supermarket section or not, but it's an honest query rather than an attempt to draw attention to what I may or may not be selling.
What are the legal issues of selling old Sugar Cane stuff (the Levis repros that breached all the copyright regulations) on eBay?
I'm based in the UK and would potentially be selling to the US - I've heard there's some sort of law against the importing of Levis-esque jeans? I seem to remember some poster complaining that Customs had shredded a pair of Samurais or something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's the thing, it was something of value. But if I tell you what it is, you are going to want it. And you are going to be like "oh, that's mine".
The guy who sold them to me was from the UK btw. And I seem to remember him posting on Crooked Tongues or Kicksxchange from time to time.

Can whoever sold me a pair of Nike Dunk Alohas, size 11US, about a year and a half ago, please get in touch with me?
I found something in the box that may belong to you...

Move to England. There's no stigma about polos there. Unless you buy Fred Perry, which despite the company's recent efforts, is still seen as a brand for chavs.
What about a Penguin one?

Do what I did. Move to the countryside. I can't wear any nice sneakers because everything is filthy around here and there's mud everywhere, so I've stopped buying sneakers and stopped caring.

Hi, can someone point me to a thread about printing your own hoodies? I tried searching but so far have had no luck.
Thanks in advance.

Paul Trynka as in the former editor of Mojo magazine?Quote:I have that book. It came in handy many years ago when information was more scarce, but now it is obsolete. Paul Trynka's book is better. Try to get a first edition because it is bigger. I have both editions. Paul also writes about vintage guitars, another passion of mine. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1845131118/ref=pd_cp_b_title/104-3821235-1503159?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155

I had no idea he was into denim. Seems like a nice chap, used to post on the MOJO forums whenever people complained about how shit the magazine was getting.

I thought I'd post on a pre-existing thread rather than make my own new one. (It's bad enough that I'm asking this question)
I have a pair of 45s, which I can JUST about do up all the button on. I was under the impression that Sugar Cane stuff all shrinks a good inch or so upon washing, but on the tag inside the jeans, it says they are sanforized. Is this because a) they ARE sanforized or because Lee jeans are sanforized and Sugar Cane's level of detail extends to reproducing the original Lee tags?

Join the Airside Shop t-shirt club instead. Their stuff is actually decent.

They speak English (mostly). Ask to be transfered to the trainer department.
If they don't speak English, ask for
"Le ray-on duh show-soor."
(the oo in soor is pronounced like oo in moon)
The guy in the shoe section speaks decent English.

So, I haven't bought new pair of nice jeans since like 2006. I've bought a couple of pairs of Uniqlo, but am ready to splurge again on some proper denim.

If not, is there anything new in the game that I should know of? I know I'm not going to get another pair of Sugar Canes for $160, but perhaps there's someother brand I'm missing out on?
