  1. Thanks for the interest guys. I'm selling this great little camera because I've been bitten by the photography bug and started using my Canon Rebel XTi 400D dSLR camera more. I recently started taking photo classes and now know how to use my SLR! Ever since I figured out how to adjust exposure, I've been addicted since. I'm looking to buy a 580EX SpeedLite flash, so I'm using the money from selling my Ricoh to fund the new flash.

I haven't used the Ricoh much, so I don't have too many pics from it. Like I said, it almost brand new. For the most part, its been living in its case ever since I started using my Rebel. No dents, dings, or scratches. The warranty is thru SquareTrade and is transferable. I don't know if this applies to international folks outside the US, so I have to check.

The panny dmc-lx2 is nice, but its a poor man's leica. Like the Ricoh, it has noticeable noise above 400iso. I think the Ricoh lens is better and sharper, thou. The only other camera I'd consider for ultimate point n shoot would be the Ricoh GX100. I've played with it and still think the GR Digital lens is better. I've also read that the Fuji FX22 is badass as well.

The Ricoh GR Digital camera is the ultimate stealth street photography camera. It looks like a cheap disposable and you can turn off the screen and sounds so no one knows you are taking their picture.

Go onto flickr.com and search for Ricoh GR and you'll see the great photos from this thing.

If I hadn't bought my Rebel and invested in the many lenses I bought for this thing, I'd probably use my Ricoh. But since I plan on making money with my camera/photos, it makes sense to focus on it more.

Let me know if you have nay more questions.

  3. What school are you planning to attend? From the sounds of it, you're looking at Parsons and Pratt. If you're interested in Toy Design, FIT's Toy program is pretty strong with direct ties to the production toy industry.

Nationally, I believe CIA, RISD, University of Cincy, and Art Center have stronger programs. Depends on what you want to get into.

  4. Lol, I currently live in New York and visit BiG regularly. I've lived in Vegas for over 3 years already.

BTW, my 2 weeks and 2 grand got knocked down to 1 week and 1 grand because of taxes, bills, and work. So, any suggestions on what and where to go?

Like someone mentioned earlier, I don't want to go to a hot place in the dead heat of summer. I'd like to get away from the city, relax, and decompress before going back to the hectic work life.

  5. I want a Head Porter mini camera bag for my Ricoh GR Digital camera. I'm looking for one with a carabiner clip on it and lil pockets to hold an extra memory card and battery. If you have the HP bag made for the Ricoh GRD, even better. Please PM me if you have one for sale or know where to get one.

    Thanks!

  6. ummm... i'm really not sure why you are posting this here, but...

there are two places to get chainstiched hems in NYC (AFAIK). 45rpm and BIG. as far a reataching seams, anyone tailor can do that.

Cuz I'd like to have a nice pair of Evisu 0002s hemmed and don't want them f'ed up like my last pair of jeans that were hemmed.

  7. Are there any places in Chelsea that do chainstitched hems or decent reattached original hems for a reasonable price? Last time I had a pair of jeans hemmed by a Korean lady near FIT and she messed up my jeans by accidentally making one pant leg shorter than the other by an inch!

  8. I'm an IT guy at a local design school. When I grow up, I hope to become a designer myself.

BTW, anyone looking for an IT guy in any of the major cities, ie: NYC, LA, SFC, MIA? I am looking to relocate and be around places with a better denim selection.

  9. I am not feeling the super slim trend rockin the jeans scene right now. I workout and have been blessed with thick legs. If anything, I have to have jeans with at least a relaxed cut. Sometimes I have to go up a size on the waistline to accomodate my thick thighs. Unfortunately, some of these newer cuts are still too tight in the thigh area and the waist looks hideous once I finally find the size that accomodate my thighs. What jeans are loose/relaxed in the thigh area that look good? I prefer a lower rise to mid rise instead of the crotch at my knees look.

  10. Those are the jeans I mentioned in a previous post regarding authenticity. I received the jeans and they aren't selvedge, don't have orange thread, and don't have a tag that say Anglais on it. They are supposedly from an older stock the seller was trying to get rid of. I'm still tying to decide on whether or not they are real.
