  1. haha yeah

    they're forsure indigo.

but yeah. they do appear very dark brand new.

as someone previously said...the sebastians, hiros and novios are all a dark indigo, really dark. And they're all outta the same fabric, the fact that the novio's are a more tonal contstruction makes the fabric look black though, kinda tricks you eye.

also all our jeans when raw look darker as our denim comes with a sulpher top treatment, whereas if you buy a pair of our rinsed or washed jeans they will be blue-er (if thats a word)

im stoked the site is back up too, i was friggin bummed at our host for a while there.

  2. we're going to up the rise a bit...although change is a slow beast, so probably the jeans that come out around Christmas will have a higher rise...not mega high though...that's coming for SS/08 we're doing a crazy 70's high rise men's jean, gonna be sick.

  3. wow, this thead just got exciting again...

let me try and address some stuff that was brought up in a mass reply:

Landon: you are a funny man, and famous too, we are going bike riding and beer drinking in the motherland tonite in fact, looking forward to it

777: we are still sending death threats, angry dogs, anthrax envelopes and etc to a few of the other 777 members so we can get their jeans and last photos, my plan is to put it online again in a new format and also make a cool little photo book for the members of it, maybe even one that people can buy. so bear with us, im glad you're all so interested

777 round 2: there are rumors floating around about this, and people keep emailing me wanting to be a part of it. It's gonna happen, with a twist, once we finish up the first 777 there will be more details.

neonlights: the hiro's look good man, my person favourite grossness of the raw denim process is checking out what colors the pocket lining is turning, im about 9 months into a pair of toshiro skinny's (not everyday wear though) and the pocket lining is about as brown as the denim....kinda creepy

s0than: thank you so much for the kind words, sorry i was in NY when you stopped in, would have loved to meet you, haha and i like everyone seein the homebase photos, anyone who lives around LA is more than welcome to come and hang-out

tyler shileds + iron army hoodies: they run a little small cause they are unisex. see online store for measurements

dkatz: your photos look amazing, im still in canada but the rest of the crew will be at the office to drool over the wash on those sebastians, they look rad, email the other steve at [email protected] to make sure you come when they're in the ofiice

poof: the slimmest pair of iron army's would be our new-ish skinny fit in a washed or rinsed jean, we're also shipping a new relaxed leg fit for the dudes with giant legs in the fall

alright guys, hope this helps keep everyone in the loop.

  4. we're still tracking down the last of the jeans and the final photos from the guys, taking for-freaking ever. but once it's all done we're gonna put together some rad little books on the project and a new web presentation of it too, then we launch the next 777....which has a killer twist to it.

    more to come...

  5. the good news is that we haven't died....been busy though, just did a full runway show in Manchester, England. Then went to Canada for a few, now back in LA finalizing Spring Summer 2007. Still trying to get the last 777 dudes crap sent in to us. And planning for the next 777 (which will be insane)

some sufu dudes came to our factory and bought some stuff yesterday too.

  6. in my opinion, they are both nice, depends on what kind of look you prefer, the novio is very subtle and tonal looking, but the sebastian is more of a "classic" looking contrast denim. They sell pretty evenly for us, although i've never seen a really good pair of raw novio's worn out yet so you could be the first. oh yea and if your wondering, they are made from the exact same pattern and fabric

  7. no problem man, thats a great compliment to hear. we try to kill it at customer service, don't always do that cause things get so busy but yea. all the superfuture people rule. it's cool to get into the mind of people who own, or are thinking of owning our product.

  8. so that jean dryer thing is awesome, so awesome in fact i posted it on our new blog. Everyone check out our blog at http://ironarmyclothing.com/blog write stuff on it so we look legit....

in other news....how do you put a picture into a superfuture comment? can you just dump html into it? (i know i should know this but im lazy)

in other other news...dude above this comment, what kind of pictures do you want? i got lotsa them email me some specifics at [email protected]

furthermore, i will be updating 777 by the end of the week. i got some good stuff from most of the guys, the other people who aren't sending stuff will be "gone" by the end of the month (by "gone" i mean dead)

  9. yo, i think the other steve said that he sent out a patch kit before we left for manchester, so i hope he sent it out to you, did you email him?

lemme know and i'll get it taken care of

  10. what we're offering that is different, is a jean where each jean is guaranteed to be unique as they are sewn completely freehand with a single needle machine first and then constructed using traditinal methods. twice the sewing = twice the value. it's beauty in imperfection.

also our denim uses T-400 or Elastorel which DuPont developed for the apparel industry, basically is has much more memory to it than lycra previously did, so that's why IA's fit so well, and keep fitting well. Especially for girls who are used to having to wash their jeans every wear to keep the fit up. Our raw denim will stretch out a bit more because it's only when the cotton and elastorel hit water that the fibres expand fully to do their work.

and unlike a lot of other denim lines we are fiercly passionate about building a community of creative people who care about denim, but who also care a lot more about art and have compassion for our world. stay tuned for Army of Love (which will be a sub-collection of iron army)

We care about stuff and we make kick ass jeans, to put it simply.

Oh yeah, and we did not start out by using blanks, we actually got a manufacturer in Montreal to do a full cut and sew pattern for us where we chose the denim, construction, stitching and then we hand processed those jeans to creat different styles. you could do the same from Confection D'Beauce in Montreal, it'll cost you +10,000$

  11. well "tion4->" you did say to correct you if you were wrong....and you are a very wrong and misled Iron Army commenter.

so i will set the record straight:

Firstly, our jeans are not blanks that have been sewn over. if you have ever looked at a pair of real Iron Army''s you will realize that while you see the sewn wrong stitching on the top of the jean, but you don't see it on the inside of the seams....figure out how we did that and you get a prize.

Secondly, im not sure why we would buy blanks when Iron Army owns a denim factory in LA.

also, if you are looking for the "allure" of japanese denim, then go buy some japanese denim, we have never claimed to be a japanese denim company, nor do we care to be, we are something completely different than what the rest of the industry has to offer.

hope this helps as you continue to make your assumptions, about things you are uneducated about.

    Lates,

PS. does anyone know any models in Manchester? We're in the UK right now doing a casting for a runway show we're throwing here in June. Lemme know.

  12. im gonna go ahead and say that is definately not the right size in the mitzi jean. they should fit similar to a glove....

i would trade them in for a 25 at selfedge...lemme know how that goes.

  13. ADLH, sorry to hear about your 30degree wear problems. here's what to do, definately patch em cause nothing is sicker than raw denim that you've had to patch due to mangleation....email [email protected] and tell him what's up he will send you a patch kit with the exact denim and the Tex 120 thread that we use to sew the jeans. hope that helps

    Steve,

    Iron Army

  14. perhaps we shoulda called it the "way-mega gangsta skinny fit" we've already been shipping them out, so call your local store and see if they got em. they will be online within a few weeks probably doing the online store shoot next week.
