Was at J Crew today and found these, currently have one on and I love it:

thickish, 100% cotton, cool, dark gray "heathered" look.

I've been looking for the best plain cotton tees, and I found one I love that I own, but I don't think they're making it anymore.
It's a Banana Republic Heritage Collection in like a dark heather gray, the cotton is heavier than a normal t shirt and it's soft and there are little details of stitching around the neck and hems.
What are everyone's perfect plain cotton t, like the kind you'd wear everyday and not just under stuff?

thanks guys.
I also bidded on a non-leather patch pair of jeans from this seller before I began to question the authenticity of her items. I really don't think I can trust these either.

There is selvage on th outside edge of the coin pocket and the patch is very slightly shiny, but it is a dark brown color. in one of the auction photos there is a picture of a pair of jeans with a white patch in the background.
here's a link to the auction:

I'm thinking about paying around $200 for a pair of leather patch'd 501's. Old ones, not repro. No huge tears, nice wear.
Am I getting ripped off?

yeah that happened to my stf's and my sd-103's resoaking pretty much cleared the sd's up.

I would recommend washing or soaking the jeans before you wear them, otherwise the creases and fading will move (up and to the side, jeans twist don't forget)
also, be careful when drying the jeans on you, mine stretched a lot a thte knees and they got all weird looking so i had to reshrink them.

yeah, i can imagine the garage attracts that kind thing.
plus all the harvard kids... eeep!
but seriously, when i was a bar tender we had to deal with much the same thing, if acting busy didn't work, security did.
now that i think of it proletariat, i'm wearing one of your t's today, the prudential/gun one.
i tried to contact you once before to talk about partnership possibilities with a project of mine, but i didn't hear back from you, perhaps I should PM or email you again, let me know.

Yeah it is very heavy and starchy, and the whites on the selvadge on my jeans also turned a bit brown.Quote:ok, they're out of the washer
Waist measurement is nearly identical to my Eternal 811; they're about 82 cm / 16" when laid flat, measured, and doubled.
Front rise is 10" measuring from the bottom of the J-stitch
Denim is insanely heavy and starchy. The selvage stripe is all brown now due to the starch leakage ah well.
The leather patch is beautiful.

i machine washed them on warm inside out with no soap and they fit perfect now, awesome.
I didn't really have any visible creases and i had previously soaked them a bit so i'm not worried about moving wear marks.
I would dry them on me but the last time i did that i stretched out the knees and they made me look weird.

well, "fuck them up" is very different from achieve best/most desired results.
and I was unsure of the differences between washing with no soap (which seems to me just soaking with movement) and simple soaking.

and detergent, one of the castile ones mentioned so often here or like normal soap, or no soap?
and tumble dry?
oh sweet, cause I absolutley love the color of these jeans, the suuuper dark basically black blue, i'm just starting to get an overall deeep blue tinge now.
also, just for the record what exactly is it about raw denim that makes it fade and break in faster than normal washed dark denim?

machine washing won't bleed too much indigo to still get nice wear?

so i got a pair of sd-103's that I soaked in hot/warm water, inside out for a few hours and either wore or hung dry. I've been wearing them for about a week now and I'd still like to shrink them a bit more, but the indigo is still very dark and I don't wanna lose that or any wear that I may develop. any suggestions?

but are they real?
the messed up tag doesn't look right.
I'm not an expert tho.

depending on the day's exchange rate that's about 150 USD.
the warehouse website says they're boss of the road (i think, i don't speak japanese but thats what google translate led me to believe)

I paid around 17,800 yen or so.
They are Boss of the Road repros I believe actually.

they were labeled as deadstock but had no tags, I found them in a big "hip" thrift store that carried a lot of other denim and other stuff in Ube, Yamaguchi.

the denim is soo slubby its rough but its pretty light, definetly lighter but rougher than my sd-103's.
The buttons are very tight.

Here's pictures of the jeans I mentioned in another thread, the first one was taken before soaking, the rest after but I haven't worn them at all.
