  1. well the people that work in the store aren't wearing the diesels and what not but they are wearing track jackets and have hyper-trendy hair styles and shit...its deffinately a "look" and I don't like it

    sorry for off topicness

those jeans up there look great and the puma fade is a neat idea

are you talking about the one at northpark?

lol, the jeans are nice. eventually when i get a job, ill be buying some nice jeans i see on this board. lol

  2. I was at the Mall last night... A Dallas mall... where 6 months ago you couldnt find anything without a hollywood wash out. Now GAP has selvage... I would bitch, but they are actually not too shab.

But.. Macy's has a whack, junior like section, for "young men" and they have some silly selvage jeans, made in Mexico. Comes with some silly tag explaining the selvage history and a price tag of 60$ or so. The jeans do that whack crap where they leave the selvage as the seam of one of the back pockets. Anyhow.. it has officially caught on.

I am far from "elite" with fashion or denim, but its sad when too much of a good thing turns rotten.

    Selvage used to mean something.

    What mall?

    Galleria?

    North Park?

I'm prolly going to purchase some nudies RR at Barneys over at northpark when I save up. lol

  3. Recently I stopped by gap. and saw some actual selvedge jeans. It was 98 dollars too.

Its a new model, not the red and blue selvage on.

Tried em on. They felt good, prolly my next jeans I'm going to purchase during the holidays.

  4. i don't think its selvage..

I think its just the whole raw denim thing is coming back. Recently American Eagle has added raw wash jeans to there collection.

Iono if people can handle the idea of not washing there jeans for six months though. This trend will die out fast trust.

  5. So I was talking to my friend about what we gonna buy this weekend. And he said that he was gonna be a pair of jeans from abercrombie. And then I tell him that I was prolly gonna buy a pair of levis 517. Then he goes sorry i only buy 'real' designer jeans.

WTF, lol. Does he know if it wasn't for Levis, abercrombie prolly wouldnt even be around making jeans and shit. And destroyed denim prolly would be never herd of.

Its not even that, my whole generation prolly only know of a couple designer labels. Hollister, Abercrombie, Hollister, AE, Aeropostale, and Rhuel? When I try to speak knowledge about other companies that have actual credability like Polo, Evisu, YSL, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Dolce&Gabbana. Lacoste, Le Tigre, Marc Ecko. They just stare at me like wtf. Or some of the guys say that shit is for girls.

Another thing about abercrombie and hollister. Its the same damn look every fuckin season. There is no diffrence to me. I don't get how they keep going back to that store everytime they want a new shirt, and not get bored!!

  6. if u really have a true passion for this stuff.

then it becoming mainstream shouldn't be a big deal to you.

besides... the pre-distressed crap. is far from dying out. and I don't think the raw denim thing isn't going to catch on to the masses yet. Till they see every freakin celeb. rockin em.

  7. Hey, guys.

I'm new to the raw denim thing.

I'm breaking in some Ruslter jeans right now.

But around winter, I wnat to start on a new pair. While still breakin in my ruslters.

I don't want the 501 STF, cause its not real dark indigo.

I was browsing around the sheplers website and I found these.

    Anyone have experience with these?

    Levi 517 Rigid.

    http://www.sheplers.com/item.cfm?DI=010017&TID=037428&Start=1&page=category&ITEMSTART=1

They look preety good, and the indigo is real dark. and cheaper than the the 501s lol.

Its either that r some rigid wranglers from walmart. for 20 dollars.

  8. Oh shit...

lol mah bad for backlashing like that man...

For some reason I didnt see the great before the hiphop thing. lol

    forgive me

    I'm a lil off today

Like I said in the previous post...

Where I live right now, "emo" or "screamo" is like the cool thing ot listen to...

After Fall out boy came out and I started seeing dudes in skin tight girl pants.

I seriously lost hope for the rock genre

So I stick to things before emo bands started poppin into the scene.

And I'm more of a "Indie" rock type of person and like mellow punk.

And metal, and hardcore rock isnt really my thing.

    Dangerdoom is dope.

DrinDrin, why is your hip-hop list great and your rock list so shitty?

    Everything after VU is sad.

dystained , for more metalcore (true metalcore, not crap bands like Avenged Sevenfold or whatever's popular with the mascara guy crowd) check out Kylesa. They're

pretty much like Cursed, but a bit more sludgey and blues-metal influenced. Also check out Converge.

RedFoxxworth Definitely dig the coldwave and darkwave, but usually just the 80s and early 90s stuff. Have you heard what that music has turned into? Most groups putting out cold/darkwave these days sound so bland and washed out, like elevator music for grown-up goth moms at the mall.

Fushitsusha's legendary man, you should look for everything you can find by Keiji Haino... he's got some mega indie cred.. Thurston from Sonic Youth's written poems about the guy. An all-around amazing performer and artist, every project he touches is gold.

Muslimgauze I used to love; how prolific the guy was is amazing. Similar strangeness hangs around the excellent Hafler Trio...which is, again, one guy... music's in a similar vein though, although it gets more intense and structured than MG ever does.

naturaljax Brand New... don't rise above the shit pile to me, I'm sorry. But

I am totally with you on the misuse of the term emo.... what the fuck does dashboard

confessional have to do with Rites of Spring or Sunny Day Real Estate?. And further, the bastardization of the term screamo.... what the fuck does The Used have to do with Heroin, Clikatat Ikatowi, or the rest of the Gravity records roster? That's what happens when stupid people are allowed to shop outside of Walmart...

In the modern electronica vein, since someone mentioned house music,

anything past '95 that isn't either heroin/micro-house sounds exactly like

everything that came before it. Seriously. House music is so fucking restrictive,

unless you fuck with it to the point that 95% of house music fans won't listen

    to it, it's just boring.

However, super-vouch goes to Venetian Snares. Everyone needs Venetian Snares in their life.
