  1. Cross post from evolution thread. X's 25, many years, many many washes. These are the best jeans I've ever owned, I've got newer Dubbleworks, PBJ and 'Canes, all have got sttiches blowing out in the pocket seams etc; not one stitch on the SDAs is even slightly loose. They're a bit tight, and have a low rise; so though the fit is flattering (in my humble opinion) they're really not that comfortable to wear, especially in the summer. (Lefty purple line selvage '04 Christmas edtn for those who want more info)

  2. local offy got some Unertl Mühldorfer Weissbier in: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/3694/43254 Nice enough but pretty simillar to other wheat beers apart from the murky rusty colouration. Schneider Weisse is very close to it, but nicer.

Got a couple of British beers for the weekend; Red Rock trad bitter http://www.redrockbrewery.co.uk/Beers.htm and a bottle of ltd ed (bottle 241 of 500 apparently) Habit-u-ale from a brewery called Naylors - it has a photo of an ugly bloke on the front who according to the lable won a competition - it's supposed to be Trappist style so I hope it isn't sweet and horrible. I'm looking forward to them, but I'm pretty jealous of the large number of lovely looking American beers that will never make it over to these fine shores

  3. £100 shipped in the uk. Paypal preferred. Located in Birmingham. Paper tag says SC41945A, tag on jeans says 1945B. These are the Lee repro ones.

    Waist - 32"

    Inseam - 33.5"

    Front rise - 11"

    Back rise - 14"

    Upper thigh - 11.5"

    Knee - 9"

    Leg opening - 8.5"

Pictures to follow. Any questions give me a shout. Thanks

This from a couple of weeks ago. In no particular order:

Augustiner: lovely, bready and clean. A new firm favourite, pick up a bottle every time I'm in the offy.

Schneider Weisse: Only buy it because they keep two decent beers in the fridge, this and Erdinger, and I prefer this...a bit.

Pilsner Urquell: A nice hoppy simple decent lager.

Liberty Ale: Again, I always pick up a bottle of this, hoppy and relatively complex but still very refreshing as it is quite dry and bitter (unlike most Belgian ales).

Thurn Roggen: Didn't know that roggen meant 'oats' until I just read it. Quite dark, soft and with a toasted/roasted flavour running through it. Not bad but I prefer the crisper wheat beers.

Deus: for all its pomp and circumstance, I can't help thinking that this is basically a novelty beer. Came with a little poncey leaflet about how is brewed in Belgium then aged in France or vice versa, and with exact (and patronising) chilling instructions. Turns out the chilling instructions are crucial: It has to be freezing cold because it is fucking horrible. Too strong and too sweet, tastes like Carlsberg Special Brew mixed with Kia-Ora. Granted, it is very fizzy, and the bubbles are tiny like a decent champagne, but this beer has abviously been fucked with much too much. I reckon people should try it for a laugh though. Oh, and it got me pissed.

  5. cross post from the evolution thread - These are the SDA X's-25, Leesque back pockets and coin pocket, LHT, fairly low rise and slim fitting, button fly and full purple line selvage. About a year and a half, plenty normal washes.

  6. hite is pretty much your run of the mill east asian lager, not sure why it'd be worthy of your contempt unless you were expecting a trappist ale or something (and try washing down bibimbop with one of those)

Fair point, guess I only mentioned because it's on the international beer shelves. Don't you reckon it tastes like watered down Bud though? I don't think I checked but I guess it's got rice in, like the American Bud, which gives lager a sort of soft, sweet pissy taste. Don't get me wrong, I drink some shit lagers, got drunk on Fosters, Carlsberg and XXXX for the England match last night. Haven't got a clue what bibimbop is/are.
