  1. i bought some sugarcane shower gel for my 6 month old baby Ralf, and asked about the instructions. Will post separate on my RRDS later and talk about detergent. My tub is being filled up slowly right now... *drum roll*

  2. i agree with naturaljax

I love my fuji to bits. I'm a photography student at university, and can't deal with the sony and panasonic photos because they're CCD sensors are too crappy, causing alot of noise in the dark (clubs, bars... places i'd generally take photos with my friends for casual snaps). Also, the response of fuji is really fast. takes less than a second for the whole thing to swtich on and be ready, and the shutter delay is minimal, making spur of the moment shots very possible. That is what i find lacking in the uber slim models.

  3. greentea- no photo. if it happens, it only lasts for that 5 minutes in the shop fitting room.

    egpt- silouette is everything.

chapital- yeah man, I had to wear all my jeans mad low too. strange that you say that tho, cos the regular ralfs are the only jeans that I wear alot that fit properly. maybe on a side note, any other jeans that fit like that guys?

  4. can anyone show me pics of a pair? Been craving over a pair of the selvedge (omg purple purple) for a while, but words are no substitute for pics for fit description :/ cheers

  5. Finally, I can't bear to ask this question i've had since I was 13.

For 8 years, I've been finding denim that doesnt fit my butt right. I always get this jagged edge, a hard fold on my butt from extra material.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it because the jeans should be worn higher/ lower or maybe the butt room is too big, or is it the thighs? I'm just confused, any help woudl be great.

I get it most with raw denim from the rigidity, but I dont end up buying those jeans in fear that they dont end up loosening up and just sitting low again. Justified caveat?

  6. Yes it has definitely influenced me. Now, I want every pair of my jeans to be personalised, though having honeycombs and fades is probably not a good idea for formal occasions, but to hell with that.

Lol try this "I haven't washed my jeans in 6 months, and intend to keep it that way for the next 6"- guaranteed no game.

  7. lol @ Servo

how can you even compare gstar to evisu- they have a completley differnet mission

G-Star open your mind and you will find that there is alot more this globe has to offer in terms of style. Get ahead of the game in China, welcome to the future.

  8. there are a few shops in hong kong, as Landy said, in the 'nondescript mall' in causeway bay. I think its called Causeway Bay Plaza/Mall or something (be careful there though, both exist. i forgot the exact name but look for the one behind Windsor House). if you see a bunch of Malay type shots around there, ur close. there are 2 shops in that mall, one in the basement (down the stairwell that Landy described), one upstairs on the 2nd floor (go behind that set of stairs leading downards).

Theres also a shop or 2 in Mong Kok district's Sino Plaza. Good luck

You're right, Serge is a case where his jeans turn out really well and he only washes very infrequently. Another such example is TragicBliss.

I just get a little pang when I see so much worship and this "turning superfuture upside down" ideology, when in reality a lot of us have been saying "they're just jeans" for awhile.

Ryu, I hope you weren't offended by my comments earlier. I, as with everyone here, appreciates your contribution and I love your website. My comments were directed at those who seem to disregard all of the amazing information we've been lucky enough to receive from ringring, because they interpret what you say as being completely the opposite of this. In practice and thinking, I do not think you and I are different at all. I believe the same way - treat your jeans however you want to and they will look great.

Japanese jeans are awesome as far as fabric goes, but fit is a bit of a tough subject. For me, I can't wear the vintage-style jeans unless they're hug-your-ass-tight, because I don't like the anti-fit look. The best alternative, in the same realm of quality, are the American brands Prps, 5EP and Rag&Bone - all of which fade a bit slower, because of treatment with resin and such. I nearly flipped when I flatted out the thigh of my RB11s today and realized that there was ever so slight whiskering. The color (a grey/blue) is truly a sight to behold.

wild_whiskey: I was merely quoting someone else with the 'turning superfuture upside down'. You can find his post on the first page of the 'guy with crazy sugarcanes' thread.

The problem with these theories is that they need photos to back them up for them to be convincing. To achieve a certain effect, one must know the causes and it is certainly true when people say 'Wash it however u want, wear it however u want' etc, yes, indeed, they will look great with character later, but they may not achieve the look they initially wanted. With the influx of more and more denim noobs, this knowledge is necessary. The grandpas of superfutre know all this because of experience and continous reading of updates and discussion, while it is very hard for someone new to suddenly amass so much denim knowledge- one can't be expected to sift through all the posts on a topic on a search hit in one day.

curiosity into others techniques and the causes for certain denim fades is not a sin. it isthe opposite of disregard, an overload of information, that brings up questions like these. so i agree with cheapmuthafkr, it takes pictures for solid reassurance. I thank all you denim gurus out there willing to spend a few minutes to reconfirm certain faqs, and taking the time to address questions that may or may not have been asked before.
