hello, I am kind of new to the whole raw denim thing and I have been wearing my earnest sewn filsons for exactly one month today and i think they are a bit out of shape...a bit looser. Can you tell me about the soaking process a bit more, i know it is supposed to shrink the jeans up a bit also.Quote:I think a dry clean is good if done perfectly but why bother with the worry. There are like 30 ways they could mess it up. I'm just going to cold soak them and hang dry. Cheaper too.

i think the quality is amazing. I dont have any apc but ive felt/tried em on before and they were quite nice (didnt have the money) but the julian reds are really thick (i think they are 14.5 oz.) and well constructed. I can only compare then to my earnest sewn filsons which are considerably thinner. I also found the calis to be 'softer' than some other raw denim ive seen.

thanx a lot spencer. so happy to hear that...dont really love taking deep breaths just to button jeans...Quote:They will stretch, don't worry. I've had my California's for a little over a week, and they've gone from a 15" waist brand new to 16.5" waist. They were VERY tight when I got them, but once they stretched a little, I put on a pair of Under Armour Cold Gear leggings to speed up the process. With a few days of normal wear, they are not only comfortable, but I can't believe how much they have stretched in such a short period.

thanx for your thoughts guys. They are calis (30x34) and are verrry tight around the waist. still deciding if i should keep em...
Has anyone had them long enough to comment on how much they'll stretch?

got my jeans from fos5 (great/quick service) but I am undecided. It could be because these are my first true slim jean. They are a size 30 (same as some diesels/earnest sewn i have).
Should i keep these? I know they'll stretch but im on the fence.
thanx

thanks horriblyjollyjinx and tangerine for your replies. Since i already ordered I guess i will just have to worry and wait now, lol.
i found those nikki sixx's pictured to be well tight imo....i like the scrunched leg look though..glad i ordered a 34L at least.

not to resurrect an old topic but I was wondering if anyone else could give some more opinions on size/fit.
I think I am a true 30w and I recently ordered a 30x34 after talking with fos5 and noticing that they list them as running a bit small. My only reference in straighter cuts is diesels farco (30w) and earnest sewn's filson (31w..but could easily wear the 30).
will these 30 calis fit me? I want them fairly slim fitting
would be bummed if they didnt and 29 sells out

New to the site...excuse my ignorance.
I recently ordered these filson 50s and they will be my first raw jean. Since they have been pre-washed and line dried how much will they shrink (if at all) after a wash./dry?
Basically when they arrive should i look for them to be fitted (as my other jeans) or losser/larger (to take into account future shrinkage).
cheers
