  1. got to handle these in person the other day after visiting BiG... my 2 cents:

I was not very impressed at all by these guys. The denim is very soft and thin, which is not really how I like my denim at the moment.

Investing in a pair of great-fitting, well dyed Japanese raws will make you happier in the end, I think.

Yeah, I agree 100%. Great post. The denim felt cheap.

  2. Sorry, I was referring to your new Evisu's...are they the Wrangler repro that Cheep is getting?

I have a pair with the 0005 cut (new slim western fit).

I wouldn't call the Evisu's a repro, since they lack most of the 11MW's historical details. At the same time, I really pleased with the broken twill, since the SDA's XS-26 have lht.

I see the Evisu's as a painted tribute to the iconic tabs/patches of Wranglers and Levis. At the same time, I love how Evisu injected their brand identity, mostly a sense of humor with a little irreverence, into this model.

  3. From my understanding there were two different cuts on their wrangler repros..

The Evisu Brown Box model comes in two different fits. Evisu's classic 0001 block and a new slim-fit classic western block named the 0005

After soaking the Evisu 0005 Brown Box jeans this weekend, I compared fits post soak to my SDA X-26s. While I just eyeballed the rises, legs, and waist, the Evisu's size 34 were pretty close to my SDA's 34 post stretch.

I'm going to hot soak the Evisu's once more before I get them hemmed. After I wear them, I'll contribute some sizing information.

  4. Roland, how old? looks nicely aged. :)

I think the belt is SS05. That same season, there was a saddle colored Umi belt with diamonds of color that was amazing and sold out.

I washed the belt after this pic with a bar of Dove and then used some Pecards dressing on it. Its looking a bit better and I'm pleased with how its holding up.

  5. Brunello Cucinelli has a solid selecton of Trickers. Its at 379 Bleecker (NYC).

Highlights include a dark brown seude Chelsea boot with bright pink pulls. Seeing it in person, the boot was a lot lighter then I expected.

They also had a light tan suede brogue in both a boot and shoe. The clerk soiled a pair and they looked great. Very nice stuff.

All and all, it looked like they stocked about 8-10 models.

  6. This Winter, I plan on getting some hunting style boots. I'll post some pics of what I end up with, but so far this is what I've picked out. Let me know if you have some suggestions. Thought you guys might be interested....

I would love these Danners too, if they ever put up the custom site.
