  1. to poster higher up who again recommended aa - they do NOT use metal zippers, which i want.

as for their quality, and the alleged marketing ploy - they do pay their employees a fair wage for the work. this is a weird thread with some people getting insensed over walmart, and then others saying who cares about buying from a humane company. very confused. the $15 for the plain tee is realistic when you're not making chinese children do the work for 50 cents an hour... or day, depending on what you read.

the advantages of american apparel are zero markings/labels, very soft cotton, long fitting styles, limited selection of styles in extensive color options (fun when you want 15 of the same shirt in different colors). their colored shirts are terrific, and their slim fit california sweats are the best i've ever found. some of their tees have a flimsy finish and some do not, depends on the style you pick. also, their thermals are nice.

it appears that they only sell in bulk. i'm an individual, just want a damn hoodie (walmart sweatshirt was perfect in several ways BUT did not have drawstring hood and sleeves were a little short though the body was the right size).

first purchase from walmart, fyi to the hysterical posters. i don't live near one. i hope anti-walmart posters don't merely rely on big media to inform them of corrupt corporations, but diligently do their own research so as to be consistently responsible consumers and not part-time soap-box hypocrits.

    YAWN!

    make better recommendations.

(europeanwear is a difficult site and wasn't launching properly on my computer)

  4. listen up and listen good - take her to specchio (it's off of bloor, down the street from davids - another good idea), just bordering yorkville area. google the name and you'll get the address (they have a toronto and montreal store). not from there but was visiting recently and it's fa buu lus!

very $$, but maybe you can convert her to your fashionable ways.

jerzees at walmart.com. under $9, great colors. feels really soft but it's 50/50 and absolutely crazy warm. i wear it with my yohji jeans and it looks amazing. best value for $ (quality-wise).

best thing is the classic metal zip. american apparel hoodies feel junky since they're nylon or whatever.

ps it's not thermal lined - but since it's 50/50, like i said, crazy warm. wore it today with a thermal underneath and nearly passed out, had to take it off. i always buy 100% cotton so this was a leap of faith for me, but another supershopper actually recommended it, so i jumped. very soft, feels 100%, but too warm to be. bought boys XL for a close fit.

I have seen the Iron Hearts 21oz in a recent thread and they look great although someone stated that the rise was kinda low.

I am basing my opinion of a high rise to an Evisu or LVC 1944 because these are my favorite jeans that I currently own as of now.

Are Sugarcanes or 45rpms cut the same as the LVC 1944s? if so what models?

Whats your definition of low and high rise? Let me know your waist size and I'll let you know the rise of the IronHearts

thanks for your email -i'm about to open the attachment you sent me, but my size is 30w in levis 517, and 28 in yohji yamamoto (or 2)... and 27 in cycle. go figure. i would like to know the rise of the ironhearts in my waist size - though i'm interested in bootcut, and silversurfer is not. thanks

I heard the same about discontinuation of regular STF 501's in Canada by ppl. from levi's themselves. Its imposible to find them in small small sizes as is, and soon enough they will be gone all together. It is totally true that there is not such a big market for Dry/Rigid denim. Guess they only want to leave it to their Vintage line.

are the rigid vintage levis any good?

i grew up on 501 stf. kind of unbelievable.
