  2. SOLD

I have a pair Sugar Canes that I've worn for 2-3 months that I want to sell. I bought them in the no-wash state and just washed them for the 3rd time recently. For each wash, I soaked them in luke-warm water for 1-2 hours and then hung dry. There's some indigo loss and some fading... most noticeably near the leg openings. But there's still plenty of room to make these jeans your own. I'll sell them for $100 shipped.

    waist: 15.5" (15.5" x 2 = 31")

    front rise: 11"

    back rise: 15"

    inseam: 33.75"

    leg opening: 8.5" (8.5" x 2 = 17")

    price: $100 shipped

  3. So people on here said that the waist didn't shrink much after they soaked the jeans. Well a couple of days ago I soaked my sc002 and the waist shrunk to tag size. Bought a size 28, and it measure 31 before soak. After a warm water soak for an hour and about 10 hours of hang-drying, it shrank to 28. They are pretty tight on me now, and have been wearing the for a couple of hours. I think they are now around 29... It'll probably stretch some more over the next couple of weeks.

  4. It's kinda weird that you posted this... I just wore my wallabees for the first time today. They're pretty comfortable. They look too brand new right now... but I've seen some pics on this board with them nice and broken-in. Can't wait to see how mine turns out.

Argghh..i hate asking these sizing questions, but I guess I gotta.

If i want to get the one-wash '47 Canes, and I normally wear a 32 in RRDS, a 29 in APC Rescues and a 34 in plain old regular 501's, would I be safe w/ a 34 in the Canes?

I'm going up a size because of the slim fit nature of the 47's...which I've never tried on.

I don't think the 1947 is all that slim. It's a little baggy in the thighs and butt. I usually wear a 30 or 31... so at first I bought a one-wash in size 31 but eventually sold that because they were too baggy. Recently, I bought an unwashed in size 30 and soaked them in cold water after I received them. They are a just a tad smaller than my one-wash. I'm hoping that more subsequent soaks will make them smaller.

So, I wouldn't go up a size. I would maybe get a 33. If you decide to get the one-wash, they'll be super tight at the waist. But after a week of wearing them, they'll stretch out to around the size marked the tag.

If I order "One wash" Sugar Canes will there be any more shrinkage provided that subsequent washes are 40 degrees and the jeans are hang dried?

I'm debating whether I should have them do the soaking/shrinking or me.

You'll get alot more shrinkage if you get the one-wash rather than you washing it once. The one-wash won't shrink that much more. Also, the demin in the one-wash is pretty soft and fuzzy. It's not nearly as rigid as the unwashed after one soak.
  7. So far the new superdemin forum isn't working out too well. I still see demin threads on supershopper. And the superdemin forum is pretty slow. I suggest removing superdemin, and making a Demin FAQ sticky on supershopper. The FAQ should include stuff like a selvage definition, online stores, sizing, ST's fav brands, and other stuff like that.

i like ST because of the simplicity of interface.

i think alot of the extra funtionality results in a clutured screen, surely superfuture must look nice and clean.

ive read in many place about diiffulculty in finding things on the board, and suggestions for improvement in this area. it has alway seemed straightforward to me and i can't help thinking if you cant find stuff on here am i really going to be interested in what you have to say.

The interface of other msg boards is very customizable. Here is one that I read alot: http://tsx.acurazine.com/forums/. Compare it with this one: http://www.styleforum.net/index.php.

They both use vBulletin but Acurazine is much cleaner and gives me much less of a headache compared to Styleforum. So you can definilty design a clean/simple interface with alternate msg boards.

I'm afraid that if you make a separate demin section, then there won't be as much contribution to the threads.

i can't speak for everyone but for me...i don't spend as much time on supertalk as i do on other forums because it's so unorganized. i think this is what actually causes less contribution to threads. because ppl have to search through pages and pages before they can find something they are interested in. look at other forums. they have different sections for a reason. i'd much rather have this than use the search function(which takes forever), or skim through a bunch of pages.

lets ask a better question: would it hurt to have a different section for denim??

We should make this in to a poll. Does this CFBB allow us to do that??
  10. Quote: I think ST deserves a while new forum upgrade. Perhaps use vBulletin?

I agree... this CFBB v1.1.3 seems a little behind. The message boards I go to that are using vBulletin have nice features.

  11. I also think think that it's fine as is. Separating out the FS section was a good idea and cleaned out SuperShopper alot. I'm afraid that if you make a separate demin section, then there won't be as much contribution to the threads.

I can see how the Search function can be a hassle on this forum. It's weird that the search will always bring results of individual posts that match the query. Usually MSG boards have an option to where you can have the results show the topics only and not the individual posts. That'll help people with searching.
