re: TNF this season i agree that the black pattern doesn't look so good on the jacket or luggage but i thought the black backpack looked nice and i imagine it's probably quite good from a function standpoint

the tan version looks just atrocious though

maybe i just need to avoid the s/s lines, looking at the workshirt they put up today and it looks like the same crappy twill as that military shirt, even has the tag in the same spot on the bottom hem.

well, i think i am finished with this brand. every season i try to grab one or two button downs or jackets from. some of the stuff, like mid-2000s stuff, has lasted me forever. old workshirts, coach jackets, oxfords, backpacks.

lately though i've been pretty unhappy w/ the quality. i just received a camo safari shirt in the mail. this thing is made of the thinnest, shittiest cotton twill i've ever seen on a military-inspired garment. i realize this is a s/s collection and it gets pretty steamy in new york, but this thing is ridiculous. it is even worse than the crappy spring field shirt from one or two seasons ago that people were complaining about. this is like sub-banana republic. on top of the shit fabric, the color doesn't even really match the color on the website. in person there is a very light undertone to the green background which makes it end up more pea soup green than olive drab.

not sure wtf happened to these guys, i'd say it's the "made in china" part but the old stuff i have is also made in china.

you mean they're using arabic script the same way they use the "fuck you" logo, to get a rise out of people, because that's what supreme do, get a rise out of small-minded people w/ provocative designs

personally, i think the "camel jockey" print they're using this season is a more clever "fuck you" than the arabic script ;-)

it's not the language per se but what it represents and the current political impact it represents domestically and internationanally.

as a person from the middle east, this strikes me as kind of silly. why is a language that 300 million people speak suddenly a stand-in for all of the problems in the middle east? would it not make more sense to boycott oil than hoodies with arabic writing on them?

does camo stuff just automatically disappear for some reason? i thought most people were over camo. maybe they're over blue oxfords and back on camo?

it seemed like last season a bunch of instantly "sold out" stuff (like blue oxford shirts) suddenly reappeared in the webstore the week after it opened. i heard it was because a lot of the orders were duplicates or otherwise shady in some way and they got canceled. are we expecting that again this year?

grabbed one but i am afraid that it's going to be too small. i generally wear a L in j crew but when i get supreme field shirts i usually go for XL ... then again supreme outwear in L tends to fit ... so i don't know

well if it gets in and it's too small i'll probably be willing to trade for an XL if anybody finds that an XL oxford is too big for them, watch this space
