  1. I personally love the dry Conny jacket from Nudie.

    conny-dry.jpg

It's pretty slim and has really dope angled chest pockets. If you like the Nudie logo (which I do), it's got one blazing across the back from shoulder to shoulder. It's smooth.

  2. I went by the shop yesterday (unfortunately without a camera). Their selection is excellent and the staff is very friendly. If you contact them directly, they might do mailorder to the rest of the country. Their info is:

    212-680-0555

    [email protected]

They had a great selection, and plenty of sizes - especially in the Samurai jeans. I never realized how goddamn rigid they are! The Samurai's and Oni's made my RRDS look like a pair of linen pants. I definitely want a pair, but not before the humid-ass NYC summer has come to a close.

    Cheers,

    Schatz

  3. Hey everyone,

I'm selling these shoes for my girlfriend. We picked them up in Boston about two weeks ago. She wore them about 3 or 4 times, but decided that she needs a more technical pair of running shoes. She paid $65 for them new, and I'm looking for $25 + the cost of shipping. Sending them to the USA is $8, Canada is $20. For outside of these areas, drop me a PM. Please no lowball offers - if I can't get the stated price then I'll try my hand on Ebay.

This is a US size 8 mens shoe . It will also fit women's size 10 - which is why she bought them.

Their condition is truly like new. Outside from a few marks on the sole from walking a bit, there is no wear at all. There's absolutely no stains, scratches, or smells. I don't have the original box, but they'll be well packed. You can check my username on Ebay (schatzi182) - I have a flawless feedback rating of 89.

    Thanks,

    Schatz

  4. Hey everyone,

I thought that I'd get another photography thread going. Last year, I did a spread for Relax Japan for a custom bicycle project. A lot of the guys behind the project had names that you'll recognize:

    Haze

Anyone else have "Street Celeb" photos? Throw 'em up!

  5. I believe that if you do an artistic rendering of the photo (such as a halftone screen) and place a disclaimer on your website that it is a parody - that you're more or less allowed to use a celebrity or public figure image. Does anyone know the exact legal situation with this?

If you want to use the exact, unaltered pic - and you go through a stock agency, then you're likely to shell out a lot of cash.

  6. If you ordered one size and were shipped another, then dispute the charge. In that case, you were sent merchandise that was different from what you ordered - and that's a violation of the store's merchant account.

Call your credit card company and tell them the details. Then, you can fax them a copy of your order confirmation (with the correct size listed) and a photo of your jeans size tag (showing the incorrect size received). Bang - you'll get an immediate refund. And the people who took the payment - be it the store or Juno - will think twice about shipping incorrect product the next time around.

    Cheers,

    Schatz

  7. Love the Apalachian shots Carl - they're hard as hell. Great documentary feel to them.

I did a shoot with Japan's Guitar Wolf a little while back that I'm very proud of. Some of you guys might recognize them. I'd love to hear any feedback.

  8. Not to mention, Karmaloop has that god-awful tagline: "Fighting the evil forces of McFashion." With what? A pair of Penguin pants and a LeTigre polo? Who are they kidding? It's funny that an online shop can carry some legitimately cool merchandise ("some", definitely not "all") but still come off as completely wack. They are in desperate need of a decent copywriter.

  9. I like to support independent, personal retailers as much as possible. If a shirt was available at Urban Outfitters, Karmaloop, or Krudmart - I'd buy it from Krudmart, as the company is run by a young guy trying to make his own way. I respect that - and I would pay a few more dollars or wait an extra day or two in order to support him. While important, it's not all about the cheapest price.

  10. I picked up a pair of EU-ED jeans at an Evisu sample sale last year and was really disappointed with them. The fit was lousy, and the fabric was even worse than Diesel. After wearing and washing them a few times, I was wearing real holes into the legs of the jeans. There is no comparison to a proper pair of jeans like Nudie or Earnest Sewn.

  11. I'm a huge fan of Fred Perry and Lacoste polos. The Fred Perry sizing is a little unpredictable, I have some smalls which fit perfectly (usually the made in England ones), and some which really stretched out at the bottom. I always wash them in cold water and always hang dry them.

Lacoste is much more reliable. Size 3 (XS) fits slim as hell and feels great. They hold up to a lot of wash and wear.

Also, I picked up an amazing polo shirt at Marc Jacobs in Boston. It has an embroidered rat for a logo (his signature "stinky rat") and only cost $35! It fits great and looks dope.

    Cheers,

    Schatz

Edwin Rainbow Selvadge Jeans - $125.00

Size on the tag: 32" waist, 32" inseam

Actual size: 34" waist, 32" inseam

I picked these up from Witts (off Supermarket) back in December. I knew they were going to be tight, but I haven't been able to stretch them enough to wear them comfortably. They're still unwashed and in like-new condition. They just need someone with a smaller ass than me. They're sanforized with rainbow-toned selvedge down each leg. There's great logo and tonal stitching details throughout. No stains, rips, or tears.

Club Monaco Selvedge Jeans = $50.00

Size on the tag: 32" waist, 32" inseam

Actual size: 35" waist, 32" inseam

These jeans are pretty dope. I bought them as a "limited edition" for about $125 bucks last year. They're made of Japanese denim with a great red-line selvedge. I've washed them twice, and there's already a pretty pronounced fade - especially with the front whiskers. The rear logo is nice and subtle - just a straight horizonatal line across each pocket. You really can't beat these for the price. No stains, rips, or tears.

Crumpler "4 Million Dollar Home Bag" = $35.00

    Size: 8.7" x 7.9" x 4.7"

I picked this up last year for 70 bucks, but have since traded out for a bigger case. It's in like new condition, and is great for an SLR or DV camera. No stains, rips, or tears. Here's some features from the Crumpler site:

    > Accomodates a full body SLR (with lens mounted) and one other large accessory

    > Water-resistant 1000D nylon exterior

    > 420D Ripstop Nylon lining

    > Fully padded and configurable interior liner

    > Exterior velcro flap pocket

    > Wide and comfortable adjustable shoulder strap

    X-Large Sweatshirt - $15.00

    Armpit to Armpit: 23"

    Sleeve Length: 26"

Got this off Digital Gravel last year. Cool sweatshirt, but just too baggy for me. It has a logo screen print on the front and a cool check pattern printed on both sides. The back is blank. It's in like-new condition, wtih no stains, rips, or tears.

  13. Thanks - but that's the funny thing. Most of this wear came from sitting on my ass at work. However, I started riding my Yamaha a few weeks ago, and the fade has definitely accelerated since then. I don't know what it is about motorcycles - either the riding position or the constant airflow tends to beat the hell out of denim.

  14. Hey everyone,

I picked up these Regular Ralf Dry Selvedge jeans in mid-December of last year. Since then, I've worn them nearly every day, and have only used the occassional spritz of Febreeze to clean them up. Overall, I can't be happier with them. I'm pretty impressed with the amount of wear that they have. I haven't ridden any broncos or roped any steers - but they're getting fairly broken in. I'm planning on a first wash sometime in June.

    Cheers,

    Schatzi
