That really looks good Giles. You have a great and well-made product and deserve every success with it.

I look forward to putting in an order when the brown weft model comes out.

    best regs,

Takashi, the brown wefts arfe being made at the moment, what size do you want?
  2. Prices are on the (not very comprehensive - yet) website. Go here: http://www.ironheart.co.uk/Products.htm then click on the product you are interested in, at the bottom of the page, under the big image is the price. I will be posting pictures of how they fade on the next iteration of the website, which will include photos of the detailing, info on the cotton and denim, info on the weaving and construction and the ability to take creditcard payments

  3. Hi all. We have created a new selvedge indigo denim. It is the same weight (21oz) as the existing selvedge but is 49 threads to the inch instead of 42 and the white threads are off-white instead of pure white, thus giving a different look and feel to the denim. We are just deciding what cut/style jeans to make out of this denim. Any thoughts would be appreciated. See the current styles at http://www.ironheart.co.uk/

  4. Hi all, At last I've manged to get something out onto the web. http://www.ironheart.co.uk/

I know it's pretty basic and I am still working on it. Over the coming days I will be adding a lot more information and stacks more photos, of the jeans, the detailing and the denim. I will aslo be adding a shopping cart with the ability to pay by all major credit cards. At the moment, I am restricted to PayPal.

I have seen the Iron Hearts 21oz in a recent thread and they look great although someone stated that the rise was kinda low.

I am basing my opinion of a high rise to an Evisu or LVC 1944 because these are my favorite jeans that I currently own as of now.

Are Sugarcanes or 45rpms cut the same as the LVC 1944s? if so what models?

Whats your definition of low and high rise? Let me know your waist size and I'll let you know the rise of the IronHearts

thanks for your email -i'm about to open the attachment you sent me, but my size is 30w in levis 517, and 28 in yohji yamamoto (or 2)... and 27 in cycle. go figure. i would like to know the rise of the ironhearts in my waist size - though i'm interested in bootcut, and silversurfer is not. thanks

is it sold in the us, or through an english-language website?

do they make a high-rise model? gorgeous jeans.

Classic, send me an email to [email protected] and I can answer any questions you have. I can also send you a sizing chart.

"The point is how to use thread for width way. Normal denim is weaved by single thread for length and width way though we use 2 threads for width way."

This seems to support my original theory that to achieve the weight they use two strands of double-twisted weft yarn ("width way" is obviously weft, "length way" warp) in place of one.

Guy, take the sample patch that came with the jeans (I'm presuming it did...) and pick apart the edge so that you get one white thread free -- see if this 'single' thread is not actually comprised of two.

Takashi. The Selvedge Jeans do not come with a patch. I have done what you suggest with a "non-selvedge" 21oz patch and yes, the warp consists of 2 white threads twisted together. Anything else you need to know?

I wish the back pockets were located a little more toward the center line. Are they more toward the centerline on the smaller sizes?

Serge, Yes, but not much. About 5mm's closer per 2" reduction in waist size.
  11. Takashi - Thank you for your comments. I will be carrying a greater range of sizes once I have determined how large the demand will be. Currently we stop at waist 36". I am considering both 38" and 40", I am also likely to get alternative leg lengths made, maybe 32" in the smaller waist sizes and 36" and possible 38" in the larger waist sizes. What do you think?

  12. Here are the exact sizes for the selvedge jeans in size 34 waist. I have the exact sizes for all our styles of jeans, just email me and I will send you the spredsheet:

    Size 34 inch

    Waist 33.1

    Inside leg 33.9

    Thigh (at Crotch) 13.1

    Knee 9.4

    Leg opening 9.1

    Front rise 9.4

    Rear rise 13.8
