  1. I think Swift Europe makes a blue/ black. I just looked at some denims for fall 08 out of Tunisia that are using some pretty inovative warp and weft colors, one being blue and black. The denims were actually quite beautiful, so I believe there will be more blue/ blacks filtering in by next fall.

  2. I don't post often, but have been her for some time, SF has changed drastically from the time I joined, so has the world. I liked it better two years ago as it was more knowledge directed in denim at least, and somewhat less hostile. On the other hand I now find it entertaining. I still enjoy being here but my expectations are entirely different. Embrace the old and watch the new, take what is relevent to you and leave the rest. I love the banter and really that is all it is. No need to take it close to the heart, it is only a forum.

At the end of the day it is just SF and tossed ideas, good ones and bad ones, nothing to get your panties in a bunch over.

  3. I could probably help you with connections in Hong Kong, but as a small start up I would strongly suggest not manufacturing your brand there. You need to be on top of it. First and foremost you have to get a good fit. This is a hard market and if your fit is not there nothing else matters. I am at my factory here in the US at least 3 times a week. My design partner lives in Hong Kong, but we do none of our denim manufacturing there nor do we buy our denim there. I would be happy tell you more about my experience. Just pm me. Best of luck.

  4. I have both the Iron Hearts 21oz tommy boys and the Samurai Geishas. I prefer the IH to the Samurais. The Samurais are to big in the but and legs, the IH have a slimmer fit and I like the denim better. I only wish they were not boot cut. I am female but have not been blessed with hips and an ass, so if you have curves the Geishas could work well.

  5. You will have to use a cotton synthertic blend t-shirt. I don't know where you can purchase the burnout chemical, but I would suggest calling a fashion school with a textile department. The Acadamy of Art in San Francisco has a textile department and may be able to help you. That is where I learned textile and the burnout technique.

  6. I have heard Siwy is great for curves,or James. You could also try Earnest Cut and Sew, it is located at 821 Washington St. I wear nudies, rogan, and APC's but I unfortunatly don't have much of a butt or hips so I don't know how the fit would be, but try them anyway as I love them. Best
