  1. The back hem came with a sort of double layer protection which was pretty cool. They barely touched the ground at first but after a week or so of wearing them I bought new shoes that are much slimmer and the jeans started dragging. I wear them pretty much every day (unless I am at the gym or have to dress up) and are on me right after my morning shower, untill I go to bed. I'm sure if you wear your pair while backpacking for 2 months they will get way more wear than I have. I hope that this will help you to give your g-stars some more wear before you wash them or even give up on them . Let us know what you decide to do.

  2. B) wear the shit out of these..... from my experience my g-stars have worn out quite quickly and over the time you spend in europe they will surely show signs of wear.

    c) maybe purchase a good quality pair over in Europe to save untill you are satisfied with your g-stars

Here are a pic of my g-star dexter straight which I have been wearing for about 2 months and a bit.

After 2 weeks I noticed lots of wear and recently even had to patch up a small hole from the wear. I have been tempted to by more pairs of better quality jeans but so far have only bought one pair which I found on sale.

  3. I had the same problem as you. They are gonna be 70 where ever you look though. Check out over the rainbow for better sizing. The stf is gonna be discontinued soon in Canada so grab yours quickly. It does suck how they are so cheap in the states. I'm sure that some small town cowboy western store far out in the country probaly sells them for cheap...but who really knows. If you are looking to pick up some cheap dry denim your next best bet is to just head on over to TNT and check out their sale in the back (if it is still going on?) you might be able to still find somegood quality dry denim for 100 dollars.

  4. Most secure airline and it is quite renouned world wide for its high security standards. For years there have been armed security agents on board all flights and even armed guards at ticket counters iun countires over seas. Thay have been up holding the hight degree of security long before American and other International carriers where woken up by the tragic events of 9/11. Their airline has been a model to many American airlines. All staff are ex-military and most have pilots have had prior experience as fighter pilots. Basically El Al knows their stuff.

  5. I heard the same about discontinuation of regular STF 501's in Canada by ppl. from levi's themselves. Its imposible to find them in small small sizes as is, and soon enough they will be gone all together. It is totally true that there is not such a big market for Dry/Rigid denim. Guess they only want to leave it to their Vintage line.

  6. What brand of spray starch do you all use? I went to my local supermarkets and walmart and they all had none. So I have been using my own homemade starch (taken from an online recipe) and I feel that due to the large water content in it, it really soaks my jeans. I have been looking for this spray starch but haven't been able to find it yet.

  7. yeah i know what you mean......the denim on the shrink to fit 501's seem to have more of a shine/lustre due to being shrink to fit? Maybe the difference is due to being un-sanforizing? I'm not totally sure.

I wish they sold the shrink to fits in department stores in Canada. I've only seen them so far in the Levi's stores for $75 CND and in sizes to big for me. The ppl that worked there all said that the 31 waist was the smallest they were manufactured! Except when u look online on Japanese site you see they sell them down to a 28 waist in all kinds of lengths. Any one no of any good spots to get them in Canada?

rigid 517s or better yet 646s would be great to rock.

  8. lol.....what a deal. I would for sure buy those shoes for 3 buck. I've been wanting to buy a pair of steve madden shoes exactly like that, but for 90 dollars (Canadian). Despite the fact that the cheap shoe is probally not that comfortable I would still buy it. The only reason i want such loafers is for casual use occasionaly during the evening and weekends, so having a cheap pair wouldn't matter. I also love the feeling that when I buy cheap foot wear I am not afriad to mess around with the shoes and get them dirt. There is nothing more comfortable than a pair of shoes that you aren't afraid to wear in and get them torn apart (Sorta Like Jeans :P)..despite being bad for your feet.

In a similar story, My grandmother was "raving" about some cheap loafers from a Chinese market to my dad. In the end he bought the loafers for like 20 Canadian dollars and they have lasted him for years.

But i guess it would all depend on the use of the shoe in the end. If you are gonna be working 9-5 in such a shoe, and standing on your feet in them in a retail job, I would for sure invest in a nice pair. But for me who just wants them for lounging around....and for 3 bucks....y not?

    p.s

Anyone know where I can pick up some 3 dollar loafers in Toronto? hahaha
