God bless that guy. I mean, I would never spend the kind of money that he wants on the kind of stuff that he makes. But I'm glad that he does it - and I'm mad impressed that a little Japanese man that makes candy-colored AF1 knock-offs and shirts with baby cartoon characters can not only sell his wares like crack but also get people like Pharrell and Nelly to wear all his shit. I mean, he took hip-hop style, flipped it around, marked it up 100 times, and is now selling it back. Kids wait for hours to buy a screen-printed t-shirt! The dudes working at the NYC store front like they're manning the Hermes boutique in Monaco. And for all intensive purposes, they might as well be.

Love him or hate him, what he's accomplished is amazing. And almost any clothing company would kill to be in his shoes.

    Hats off to NIGO!

Good call! I like that WSU's site explaination...

"Another example of the oral transformation of language by people who don’t read much"

Damn, that's been my problem all along! Thanks for the tip. It's funny that this board has more bitchy call-outs on bad grammar than anywhere else that I've ever seen, but I appreciate it. Better that than "Yea OMG u right bro, LOL that shit iz kewl."

  2. Man, I just love BAPESTA's. I mean, in 10 years from now, we're all going to look back and wonder what in God's name we were thinking.

Ever watch a rap video from the early 90's - with spandex bike shorts and neon tank tops, and gumby haircuts, and 8-Ball jackets, and British Knights? Come 2015, we're going to check out these patent leather shoes with 200 pastel color panels and think "what the FUCK!"

That doesn't mean I don't like them - I do! It's the most amazing footwear trend ever.

I also find the idea of buying knock-off BAPE's kind of attractive. As much as I like Nigo, I'd rather give my money directly to the Chinese people making the stuff than pay for 1/10,000th of his next Jacob the Jeweler custom ape chain.

  4. **Whoops, sorry about the blank post above**

    Hey everyone,

I rocked the Sneakerpimps NYC show last night at Avalon. Overall it was pretty dope - there were a lot of tight custom shoes and decent music. Public Enemy was scheduled to play, but I had to break out at 1, and there was no sign of them taking the stage anytime soon. Too bad. If it's coming to a town year you, then I highly recommend checking it out.

Anyway, here are some shots from the event.

  5. Here's a photo. Stripe goes all the way up.

    Picture%20007.jpg

There was some strange creasing around the crotch area - I think designed to make it a little more comfortable to break in. Some quick inside-out ironing took care of that!

I have to say - I'm really happy with these jeans. They have a good straight fit and aren't all high-waisted and ridiculously-logo'd like Evisu. For the price, I don't think that they can be beat.

    Cheers,

    Flav

  6. Yes, I know that sounds crazy! And my apologies if someone else already posted this.

But, I am one happy dude right nowicon_smile.gif. Yesterday, I went to Club Monaco on 5th Ave & 20th street in NYC - mostly to check out their markdown items. One one wall they had a "limited edition" jean for $119.00. It's made in Hong Kong of Japanese selvedge denim and really looks dope. The denim is unwashed, but still soft enough to wear comfortably, and the selvedge is dry with a red stitch detail. My favorite aspect is the fit - I've tried on many unwashed jeans before that literally fit like hammer pants. These are slim without being too tight and hang really well. If you live by a Club Monaco, then definitely check them out.

I'll try to post some pics later tonight.

During my last trip to Nueva York, I was dreading my Bape retail run-in. My boy back home was fiending a Kaws Hoodie, so I made the trip.

I was bombarded by New Jersey herbs in evisu and bathing ape head to toe talking some g-unit shit about this and that.

Word to the wise no one rocks this shwag over hyped label anymore.

Im not ragging cause its not a dope line, no doubt they have live pieces every once in a while. People sweat way to hard and look to Pharrel like he's MC Serch and Big Daddy Kane carrying the fashion torch like its 91 all over again!

I also think that BAPE is pretty wack, and shopping in the NYC store is a nightmare.

But, I'm a happy man whenever MC Serch is brought up. Gas face for BAPE kid!

  8. Love or hate Williamsburg, you have to find this funny. Old Navy has a shirt for the hip ladies who want to show their allegiance for Brooklyn's hippiest neighborhood.

Would it be incredibly ironic to rock this on Bedford or as cheesy as those draw string pants everyone was rockin' back in the day?

  9. Hey everyone,

    <a href="http://www.lewisleathers.com/" target="_blank">http://www.lewisleathers.com/'>http://www.lewisleathers.com/"] <a href="http://www.lewisleathers.com/" target="_blank">http://www.lewisleathers.com/</a>

I've been sweating these jackets for a LONG time - ever since I first saw the brand when Junya Watanabe did a collaboration with them a few years back. They don't sell them anywhere in NYC, and I've never actually seen one in person. They're around a thousand bucks, which is a lot for a moto jacket. The "GT Monza" is so dope! Does anyone have one of these - or seen one in person?

    Cheers,
