  1. what is going down my S town friends and foes,

    hope all is well.

What's the weather like this week? Weather.com says daily thunder storms. Is raining throughout the day? Should one pack a really light weight water resistant jacket?

    Thanks

  2. Hello Beast,

To be honest my photos are vague also. I just go with the flow and see where I end up. No particular goal. I guess I would say I like capturing everyday things but with my perspective.

Yeah, I know, even more vague.

  3. sweet. I just sent you my email. I have a crackberry so email is the best way to roll.

I'm staying in the Marina area (the Ritz) so what's the best way to get around? I want to hit the basic spots like Orchard but I would also like to root around a bit as well. Should I just cab it or is there good public transpo?

I'm just taking shots of everything. I like more local types images, but anything of interest. I'm in India right now and I update every Monday, so you can get an idea at www.onehitwondersf.com.

Thanks for all your help. Really appreciate it.

  4. This is a tough one but I'll right to the point. There is something to be said about being an indie. But I want to be realistic. Product development needs money for trial and error. Knowing what I know now, I would go for funding. But let's get it straight. I've tooling at this clothing gig for 5 years with my wife. I've also been a practicing attorney for 6 years (please not that I have not spent one dime on Mama.....all my money goes to my loans). But I know contracts. Get it all in writing. Every fucking thing. Get off cloud 9 and remember shit can all go wrong. People have different visions, different goals. Example: Paul Frank.

Ask these cats, "why do you want to invest?" "what's their goal?" Don't be afraid discuss the best result and the worst result. This will be like a marriage and divorces get ugly. Example: Trump.

Keep control. Whether it be ownership interest, design control, distribution control, marketing control, copyright control,........control everything. People will have no problem fucking you.

Understand the buy-out options, understand and agree with every word in the contract. Don't fall for the "we'll work it out later" or "we don't have to worry about that now". Its all bullshit. Its money to them....Its life to you.

    best of luck.

    Sneakers:

    1. Nort/Reacon

    2. Huf - Hayes (1) or Sutter (2)

    3. Shoebiz/True

You should also checkout Harputs for Adidas.

There is also a place on the edge of chinatown and northbeach called something "star" which has a suprise every once in a while.

There also some mom and pops in the mission as well.

I could tell you more, but I always gotta keep a few secrets.

    Clothings:

(I don't shop much because of Mama but here are a few ideas)

    TRUE

    Recon

    Huf - no womens though

    UP

    FTC

    Giant Robot for some tees

SF is pretty light of the girls

You should just walk Haight, Hayes and the Mission as well.

    I probably missed some stuff.

  6. alright, let me break it down.

Here are the rules for SF:

    1. Be aware of the weather. SF has the pacific on one side and the bay on the other. ALthough SF is known as Fog Town. There tends to me more fog in areas next to the pacific coast line. I would avoid the Richmond and Sunset based on Fog and cold weather (even in summer). I would also avoid Haight for the same reason. The best weather is in the mission and then, I would say North Beach. The weather in Mountain View will be about 10 to 15 degrees warmer.

    2. Be honest with yourself. Your going to hate Mountain View if you like going out at night or shopping at boutiques. Mountain View is a slow town and you will have to drive to at least 20 minutes to get anywhere "cool". Of course, it depends on you. If you like staying at home and chillin, Mountain View will be fine.

    3. Traffic ain't that bad. Do you like commuting during the week or on your weekends? It takes my an hour and ten to get home, but when I'm home I have a whole city around me. I prefer that then taking 20 minutes to get home but being bored once I get there. Keep in mind that Bay traffic is nothing like LA traffic.

    4. SF has a bunch of cool areas to live but it depends on what you're into. The mission is cool but has some sketchy areas, SOMA is kinda isolated, Hayes Valley is cool, I would need to know a little more about your expectations in order to give you better advice. If you're a prepster, you would love the Marina.

    I tired now. Good luck.

    sorry for any spelling issues.

  7. WELCOME TO THE BAY

I live in the city but work in Santa Clara which is 10 minutes south of Mountain View.

Driving ain't that bad, about an hour an twenty minutes each way. I drive but I hear CalTrain is pretty nice way to get around. I don't find it to be a problem.

Mountain View is a small place and pretty suburban but it has a good skate shop (SKATWORKS).I would suggest staying in a hotel for a week just to check out the area. Once you get stuck in the burbs its pretty hard to get out. I would suggest living in the city and dealing with the commute. The city is great. You can hit me up with any questions.

My wife and I also run a little clothing line out of the city (mama) and I don't think it would be possible to stay current on things while living in the burbs. It all depends on what you're into though.

If you're a city kid, you're going to hate mountain view.

    Don't let Mama slap you.
