  1. [quote name=SAY CAR RAMROD.;1120976

edit: this might be out of left field' date=' but does anyone know of any good pickup soccer games/leagues/fields?[/quote]

    soccer-

leagues- norcal athletic. play on 17th b/w franklin and bryant...

    http://www.norcalathletics.com/

pickup- everywhere- behind pier 39 (might be 29- look for the circus tents) on the embarcadero. really wierd location for a field in a parking lot but pickup.

saw some dudes in the mission the other night playing some soccer on a basketball court and wanted to play with them.

    seriously though soccer is everywhere.

and inner richmond you won't stick out crazy.

  2. wander around sakae, downtown area. you can find some decent stores outside of the dept. stores. although, the department stores aren't bad for a stroll through either. Osu is the shit though. Wander and you can find a Kapital outside of the covered arcade. As well as some Blue Blue shops. There is a Soph (net) back there too as well as Mad Hectic etc.

Also a trip to Higashiyama could lead you to the Cushman's store (Headquarters (don't co. ltd).

i wouldn't say there are no good shops there, i would just say that the city is not as popular with tourists as Tokyo/Osaka so the spots aren't as known and take more digging around to find.

Actually I think Nagoya is my favorite city in Japan, less people speak english, the vibe is a bit chiller. I don't know. Enjoy.

  3. just don't ride your bike in jeans. seriously. change your clothes before getting on your super hipster steel retro fixed gear. swamp ass sucks. your jeans already smell. i know it makes you look hardcore yardy, but take off your stank ass jeans to ride, unless it is not an option.

  4. Keri:

Yo... that is hardcore. Had me crackign up, then i read your signature and realized that it carries over to everything.

    Cig list:

    Daily:

    Winston Lights (daily)

    Nat Sherman Cigarillos (special)

    Nat Sherman Mint (special)

    Now though, no more smoking...

  5. "I just bought some w36 distressed Sorahikos from 45 rpm online store using Juno. I was expecting them to be w36 or marginally smaller - when they arrived yesterday they measure 40 inch waist and are huge. This is obviously not Junos fault and I've asked him for help in returning them. Let me point out I also bought some SD105s,SD103s,Eternal 111s, and SC40300N's and SC1955's ( the Sugar Canes are too big but I'm hoping they'll shrink) all of which were appropriate to the tag size. Ironic that the most expensive, supposedly best denim company can screw up so badly on something as basic as sizing.By the way I have 2 pairs of one wash Sorahikos in w36 so I know these are completely wrong.I'll be interested to see how ( if at all ) 45 RPM fix this."

Why didn't you go to the store to try them on, or at least call the 45 rpm store in NY instead of ordering them through Juno? That way, you personally could get service, instead of going through a reseller, etc. I don't know, just seems kinda lame to bash something when there were better steps to take than the ones taken. I know from experience that even the same brand of denim, sometimes the waist varies....

    just my .02

  6. if you are going to get into it, get a quarter way there and bounce, then don't start.

if you are serious, but don't want to drop the dollars on techs, check into the numark tt500s and the tt200s, both are good solid tables that will be cheper than techs. but personally, i would drop the dough and buy the technics b/c they have a decent resale value if you decide it is not for you etc.

  7. i got lucky. my girl didn't really care about the ring for either wedding or engagement, so we decided to forego the process. We decided when we actually weren't broke, to get something dope, so we will do it, but i don't know when.

i feel blessed and often quote method man "word life, you don't need a ring to be my wife...."

  8. first to answer, my girl wears some selvedge jeans, and is in the process of breaking them in. they are one wash, mens size i think 26 or 27. or to be more precise, unisex. i think there was a thread a while back talking about this, and how most women wear jeans that emphasize fit, rather than denim quality, and that most women are willing to pay a premium, not based on quality, but rather on how flattering the cut is. that being said, ladyjeans, you seem to alreay be out of that paradigm and searching for something so you know you won't get the bootylicious bootycut lowwaisted craps.

the point i want to make is that the style will be different, and definately won't be as flattering. the rise will be pretty big, but it is a different style altogether; and i think that as you break in the jeans, the "organic" look that you like, will come into it's own and you will start to like how the jeans that you thought looked not so hot in the store look.

i know a few girls who wear really nice selvedge denim, and i think the style, while not altogther in fashion, is pretty damn cool once you get over the apprehension of wearing jeans that don't look "hot" and take the time to make the jeans yours.

i don't want to get into brands, because that is personal shit, but yeah :0

(edit: found thread i think: http://superfuture.com/city/supertalk/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=6049)

  9. definately check out Tsuki if you are down for a trip to the UES.

Mike san and Chris are an awesome team and their uni (sea urchin) is maybe the best in the city.

blue ribbon in bklyn is pretty good too.

  10. no more aihikos, i don't think at least.

also, if you live in the tropics check out the bc 4000 jeans. lighter weight selvedge, i believe the alternate the warp/weft, with one using 14oz to create the same slubiness/texture and durability as sorahikos, but with the other (warp or weft) using a lighter yarn to create an overall lighter jean. still really nice, thnking of getting apair to avoid summertime swamp ass.

  11. What's up people?

I wanted to let you know that on thursday the 22nd, the brooklyn brewery is putting on a film called Sanctified.

Not only is this a kick ass film featuring some of the best backcountry skiers and boarders in the world, it has a positive message for backcountry preservation. Part of the proceeds from the event go to the Hudson River Foundation, so it is for a good cause.

The company that is putting this on is called KGB films and are based out of jackson hole.

The price is 25 dollars for all you can drink, and there are only 150 tickets available.

    Details: 6-10pm @ Brooklyn Brewery

    70 North 11th St.

    Brooklyn, NY 11211

  12. adsurgo: my reply was a reply in general, spurned on the discussion at hand. the whole post was just something that i had been thinking of, and the based on the talk about h&m et. al. selvedge denim just illustrated the point that selvedge does not equal to quality; etc.

baldy: it could be different denim, or it could even come from the same loom, be inside denim (not from the edge) and then washed, distressed etc. as discussed on this thread, the appeal of raw denim is that you get to make it what it is through your wear (wash, shrink, distress etc.). although, i do not know about nudies and what denim they used for their washed or raw jeans, it is entirely possible that it is the same denim from the same loom, just cut from a different part of the fabric sheet itself.

45 rpm for example does not have a raw denim, but instead has a one wash selvedge as this leaves the color in, but gives a truer sense of the fit, b/c they have been washed, and have shrunk to an extent (maybe not fully but... .blah blah).

so if x then y, and if y then z, doesn't always hold true. hope that helps.
