  1. why dont you guys like them? i think the wash is nice. you can totally see the spotted horse hand work! lots of crazy sponge-pp-techniques and the denim is quite nice too.

have you seen yohji's other ones: super contrived with rediculous details.

    btw, it's 50% off!;p

  2. my tip:

    - let hot water in your tub. about 37.4 celsius

    - wear your denim and keep your underwear on

    - turn on the steve miller band cassette tape

    - put some seasalt in the water

    - step in

    - get soaked your whole pair

    - stay in there for 12 min. the longer the tighter the fit

    - step out

    - take picture of the blue water

    - take off slowly

    - dont wrench

    - hang dry outside in the sun

    hope it works!;p

  3. - well the peg-leg is not as the 80's ones a la ferris. it's not too narrow and still in proportions. they just took in little bit the inseams so it's not that full. i havent tried them on.

    - there's nothing on their site so you gotta either be in japan, paris or nyc. sorry mate.;p

    - it's still 45rpm but washed at spotted horse.

    - 45rpm has lots of sub-brands such as the badou-r &, bespoke, or r line,. in japan they merchandise most of them in seperate stores. so i assume the ues (upper east side) store will get the more non-casual stuff. also they gonna introduce a new line. and i'm very sure that the stuff is well made, yakboy!

dj krush021, the sorahikos are real straight leg.

  4. yes they have 2 new styles with each 2 washes in their selvedge (selffabric with red stitch):

    1. old fit (straight leg) but new 9 oz fabric in raw and rinse (i think)

    2. new fit (peg-legged) and new 12 oz slubby denim in rinse and blue-blk (by spotted horse)

    check it.

btw, they opening a new store in ues after summer.

  5. i agree w/ paul. these aren't 501's hence it must be before.

the wash is very not-authentic. whiskers and chevrons dont make any sense. also the big-ass pp spray at the thigh is way too contrived. why dont they make nice repros???

  6. now i have a question:

another word for "jeans"? - denim? but then denim could be jacket, shirt, overall, cap, backpack, socks, underwear;p, etc...

    maybe indigo-twill trouser?;p

you might say denim jacket or jean jacket but wont say denim-jeans, right? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    i'm serious guys!

  7. in the meantime you can get rrl stuff @ bleecker st polo store. they will open 2 stores this fall in nyc. cant say where!;p

the production is from both - usa and japan for denim. very nice fabrics.

  8. i went to kinokuniya and saw a book/mag only on uniglo. they gonna conquer usa very soon.

did you hear about that ringring?

    superslim is right - almost...sorry;p

you will get these beautiful hi-lows at the outseams not only w/selvedge, but also not all the time with just a busted outseam. the reason why is that fabric (non-selvedge) tends to shrink a lot esp in a stone-enzyme wash so that the overlock will shrink and tend to close. hence you wont get beautiful hi-lows. also if you use a chainstitch under the flap it will help to close the seams...

there're several tricks to prevent this. if you email me i can reveal it...hehe.

you cannot tell if someone wears selevdge unless he/she cuffed them. also there are so many raw non-selvedges outthere. but one tip i could give is: smell them! the stronger the smell the more likelier the selvedge...?;PPPP

then there're brands who have an exposed selvedge coinpkt (not to say of these beautiful concealed one - everyone who doesnt do it doesnt know the heritage!;), at the backpocket (eg edwin), inside the beltloops (45 rpm), the inside waistband (sugar kane), the flyfacing (blue bell), etc...

  9. juxatposed,

gut dass du nicht launisch bist...;P

well, i went to the site and i have to say that i loved the info. i'm not a fan of yen but after checking the site i'm very intrigued...i wanna see those handwoven ones! if the details are cool i wanna get them! i know that take5 in hk carries a lot of yen.

    ringring,

any sites of these: Howies, Indigo Farm, Samurai, Kohzo? little bit lazy to google them.

    skecr8r,

contacted pennylabel: they only weave labels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you're funny.

  10. i hear you paul. it's sad - it's fashion. the selfridges in nyc is probably coop barneys: here you have all the funky jeans. the coolest of the cool. the it. if you have it you're so on trend!!!

    so cynical...

for me authenticity is finding soul and keeping soul in the midst of mass consumption, mass media, mass egos, mass mess. as my other post stated - how authentic can you be nowadays?

But, duh, I thought fashion was about the shock of the new, not the shock of the three-years-old...

what i learned is that you shld not throw your clothes away b/c it's out of "trend" - it will be again in 3 yrs.;p

yeah i remember when i bought the 1st levis red raw...
