  1. If I were to ask about going to Baja Mexico from San Diego, I would ask specifically that. Look you don't have to stay huffy all day and be mean to everybody in your office just because I called you out for being a less informed than you claim to be.

Tijuana is a real city that's fun to be in (even if there's few places to buy stussy), and there's more to it than avenida revolucion, is basically what I'm trying to get accross. Keep jerkin it superdick, you just might get another inch to match the one that's already there.

  2. Hey rocket scientist!

I'm not jealous of you and your self made hell, Do you really think anyone on a board for 'shopping experts' is hurting for cash?

What happened to some internet courtesy?

Do you know how annoying it is to ask about something for some arrogant prick to say

'don't bother with that, I'm the authority, I know' Keep knocking off Venice beach jewelry,

And by the way what do you really know about this city besides what you think you know.

I'll keep toasting you, superchump, until this thread gets tossed in the supertrash

  3. Hey maybe this guy wants to see something, he wouldn't have asked about Tijuana unless he was interested

in it. BTW, maybe I responded like I did because I spend time in TJ (with my girlfriend's fam), and it is a real interesting city. Like for instance the main Cathedral is one block away from the red light district, where

can sin and redemption be so close.

Congratulations on traveling all around Mex, Thailand, and China I'm sure you played the part of the pampered western bitch real well.

Oh and another thing, I've seen all your other post dogging the rest of LA that's not in Santa Monica, open your eyes someday you might see something real.

  4. WTF englandmj7! 'Oohh, Tijuana dirtee, don't go, not enough sunburnt arizona fratboyz for me to let

    my brown paranoia subside.'

Don't listen to that BS, Tijuana's fun (I mean for real I'm sure that you know what your getting into

when you go, bottled drinks only, no ice cream, cooked salsa only @ the taqueria etc.), but the City is

fucking cool, It's amazing to see all the lights of the sprawl at night when you look up before crossing the border. Everyone takes cash (no need to bother with pesos, all the cash register have separate drawers).

Go to Plaza Tijuana, (hopefully not on a weekend), it's near the giant ball (that's an Imax theater), Get Pitchers of Beer Tijuana style (salted glass with ice and lime inside, different is good, like Arby's). Drive on the scenic road to the Playas/ Rosarito (check out the graffitti on the border fence and all the floodlights on the US side). Tijuana Beach is cool, couldn't really recommend swimming (there's a lot of run off in the water around Tijuana), but it's cool to buy young coconuts opened by machete wielding Indians.

Hey, It's not suburban USA, but it's not that scary. Take cash, ATM's can be annoying to find, there's a lot to see, Tijuana is sort of like the Mexican version of LA but with constant growth. And yeah if you want to drive further down the coastal highway it gets really pretty, and there's lots of natural (undeveloped) areas with beach between Ensenada and Rosarito.

You know the only thing to be avoided in Baja is the lines when crossing back over the border, so avoid crossing over on Holiday weekends, or get your car gassed up and be ready for 2 hour bumper to bumper traffic waiting.

  5. Hey, why are you guys posting in such an ancient thread?

Ok, so I guess someone did a search for St. Louis, I grew up there so

I admit it caught my curiosity. Should be quite an experience for a tourist,

everytime my I bring my girlfriend home for the holidays she can't believe

the sheer amount of abandoned buildings.

Is Gus's shoes and sports still going on Washington?

  6. The Jordache relaunch... There was a bunch of articles late '04 about the son of

the original owners, getting into the lux denim biz. Doesn't seem to have

crashed and burnt, but hard to tell where it goes from here

  7. I'm not sure if were talking about the same guy, Paul Guez (maybe spelled

incorrectly) original manufacturer and owner of Sassoon has a posse of denim

companies under the umbrella Blue Concept Inc. Their lines are all

fairly similar some japanese denim, some cone, fashion jeans.... Lines are:

Taverniti So, Yanuk, Antik, Imitation of Christ, etc...

  8. Hey I like hellvetica too, maybe a little too much, I find myself gravitating towards it

every time I have to drop some text on stuff.

Excessive/ Obvious photshop layers work is a big turn off, but I don't think

there's anything wrong or out of place with industrial chic. Lighting can do a lot

    for an otherwise nondescript place.

  9. Ok, ok ok ok,

I really think most people who wear knocked stuff just like the way its looks, and want to

get on that trends' bandwagon while it lasts. They probably couldn't be more removed from owning the actual item (because of sheer economics), but the likeness carries weight.

I haven't seen that much fake bape in LA, but I just recently saw some fake evisus on this guy selling fake sunglasses in the Santee Alley. The jeans had like twelve pockets sewn all up the back like those jeans with all the scattered NBA embroidery's from a couple of years back, and they really looked like evisu should've put them out, cause they all their regular shit is so middle of the road over the top, and these were just killing it.

  10. Its just as valid for someone to rock fake with a sense of humor, parody has a place, spinning watches all iced out, pen & pixel Album covers.... Just cause people are broke doesn't mean they want to dress that way. And besides they love to watch other people get mad about their fake gear anyway. It's worth your drama because noone else is so caught up with the minuatae of it all.

  11. I think instead of lamenting how much money is wasted on fake gear, DONT CARE, maybe

you and some others should spend some time to justify what makes the name brand worthy of being valued so highly. Brand names are only worth what we as consumers invest in them, and I personally am in favor of the bootleggers. All these fashion companies try and get labor costs as low as they possibly can. How can you fault a factory owner with an ounce of the hustlers gene in him or her from taking advantage of every possible oppurtunity availible?

I wasn't explicitly trying to equate appropriting with bootlegging, they float in the same space. But really, people ripping ideas is a well established practice in the fashion game, and there's few that are innocent.

  12. I realize I'm a little late to get on this thread, but I don't think I've seen a valid diss on

    fake gear yet.

People really seem to be taking it personal, like someone buying a bootleg item is stealing some of the cache from something that you covet and happily line up to pay retail to.

Get real motherfuckers, bootleging and ripping people's designs is what fashion is all about. Evisu, came into being as 'Evis', one letter short of it's icon 'Levis'. Bape's main item

is the 'Bapesta', even a blind man could you it resembles a Nike Dunk in its essence.

By the way, do a search on Lacoste, because this has been discussed previously.

  13. More than a few years ago 7-11 was running a slurpee promotion that went with

the movie the phantom, where you would get a free skull ring with each slurpee of

a certain size. A friend of mine, who is definitely necro/ death oriented, has

been rocking that ring ever since. He has a cigar box full of them, so

whenever the current skull ring eventually breaks or gets mishappen, he pulls

out a new one (sort of like a cartoon or something... bugs bunny's carrots...)

    Benny Rags

  14. I know it's probably a little late in the thread, but the 'What are you

wearing today' pics are great. This is a forum for fuckin people

that like fashion, so of course I (and many others) are interested in

    how people put things together.
