  1. Anything's possible in Vancouver... The store could open at noon and stay open until late. ;)

    -------

Nice looking spot with clean displays and high ceilings. The dual entrances are a nice touch. Adidas, FEIT, and a great selection of RTFT of course. I'll probably head back to try something on later.

A different personality in comparison to the NYC location. Overall, a very welcome addition to Vancouver.

PS The lack of price tags was annoying... or was I not looking hard enough?

  2. A quick walk-by at lunch says that ALIFE is not yet live and stock boxes are still strewn about. Either that or the twiztedsizta is sleeping in well past noon. ;)

  3. Caramel - Thanks for those recommendations! I definitely plan to check out at least one of either Hakkasan or Yauatcha... more likely the latter. Even though I live in Vancouver, where there is plenty of dim sum and sushi to go around, I've heard a lot about the "nouveau" dim sum restaurants in London, and wouldn't mind checking one out.

I love Italian food as well, so I will look into Caluccio's if I am near the area.

As for Paris, L'Avenue sounds like something to consider. One $$$$ meal won't kill me. ;) If you have any further recommendations for either city, I'd love to hear them.

    Appreciate the input so far!

    Regards.

  4. Thanks for the reply... I've had a chance to chat with some people and for ease I think I will just go ahead and purchase a eurostar ticket since it will depart from central london and arrive in central paris. :)

As for food recommendations, I am always interested! I'd love to know what's good to eat in prices ranging from cheap to moderate. If there are expensive spots that *must* be experienced, I'd love to know about those too.

    Cheers!

  5. Taking a relatively last minute trip to London in about a week's time. Was wondering if any Londoners or other knowledgeable travelers here have any good tips in terms of things to do and places to see that I might not find in a typical tourist guide. I'm interested in the insider's guide to London! ;)

Also, I will be traveling to Paris from London for two days. I am planning to book a Eurostar train ticket, but was wondering if there are any less expensive alternatives? I'm sort of traveling on a budget and would like to cut costs wherever possible.

I'll be staying near the London Business School, which I gather is at or near Regent's Park in Northwest London?

Any kind advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

  6. I think it depends on the model of shoe, but in general, I'd agree with 0.5 bigger if you don't have the opportunity to try them on first.

  7. Unless you really, really need to stay in Harajuku, I would choose to stay somewhere else on the JR Yamanote line. It is potentially a lot more cost effective, and no matter what you're only a short and simple train ride away from any of the major shopping stops, with the notable exception of Daikanyama.

  8. Maybe it's just me but I always have trouble questioning the validity of applying the term "art" to any given work or creation. For every point there is going to be a counterpoint, depending on the 'eye of the beholder.' Having said that, I think richardson produces art, that is also smut... and yes, it can be both.

Last time I was physically in the store (autumn 2004) I was very impressed by both the setup and the selection of goods. I was actually there to check out the Distillery District as a tourist, so Lileo was a very nice surprise. It was a nice departure from the rank and file on Queen Street. Anyway, good luck with your plans.

    Peace.

The irony of it is that japan-only releases are typically pretty fair priced and quite easy to purchase... until Tokyo stores get wind that people in north america are fiendin' for them. Then the prices go bump real fast. Dunk SBs? Forget about it... they are sold at insta-rape prices in Japan.

As for Nike making the dunk available to ID customers - I have heard this from many people too. I don't know if the rumour has any validity to it, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it. I mean, that would be the dumbest marketing decision ever... it would seal the fate of the dunk. As it stands, there are equal amounts of art and trash coming out of Nike design labs...
