  1. Hi

Confused completely - looking to buy a pair of ED 47 in Rainbow Selvage...

.... however whats confusing to me is that there seems to be more than one type of Rainbow Selvage, for example:

Minky are selling these: edwinraw.jpg ... which are £180.00

Similarly, Royal Cheese are selling these: edw.ed47brutindigo.carre.jpg ... which are the same price

Attic, Oi Pollio and Norsestore are selling a different type of Rainbow Selvage: L3Zhci93d3cvbm9yc2UuZGsvaW1hZ2VzL2RldGFjaGVkL2NvbW1vZGl0aWVzXzI2ODRpbWFnZV8xX2gwdzUzNF93aWR0aA==.jpeg ... which are vastly cheaper however have different coloured stitching

So far I have came to the conclusion that the more expensive jean is made with original 13.5 oz weight???

Can anyone shed light on this? any help is always appreciated..

You got something to do with End - you seem to promote them....

... more to the point have you checked the Rittenhouse AW06?

..end should stock Rittenhouse - bit like Folk but from the southern hemisphere

oh and just purchased a Folk knit ... lovely ....

  3. mince em - heavy wear - I recently bought a pair of NDC Ricos and there superb quality but you need to take care wearing them - always find leather soles comfortable but life span can be short

    baker + fiorentini - it's a quality soft leather

  4. stroke5 - cheers will check them out

englandmj7 / faust - I'm with you - gonna put segs on em

minya - nice like, quality is good but you can't mince em like but I think they'll age well - I'm wearing them tucked in a pair of Tsubi Dee Dees and Nudie Slim Jims - pirates

    Ha ha

It wasn't that I didn't find Steven Alan of interest it was just didn't have adiverse range of clothing and moreover they carried very similar ranges and labels to the department stores.

I genuinely feel you get a better more broad range of labels (and styles) in the UK.

I ended up buying a pair of PRPSs, and a Paul Smith Jacket and Shirt - say no more!!!

    Should of gone to London......

I wanted to give my opinions on some stores in manhatten, namely ones that I missed last year because I ran out of time...

steven alan- lives up to expectations. well balanced for female and male clothing. my gf noticed that the jewelry assortment was excellent. the help was very friendly, and were not overbearing. what was left of the sale stuff was deeply discounted. i took advantage of this to get an engineered garment button down, and a blue spruce hoody (they run tight, so went up a size).

number nine- don't know, it was too far out there, and needed to stay on schedule. next time.

cloak- i like their stuff, i really do. but nothing i needed from them at the time. the store kind of seems like a waste of time, space, and money for cloak, because their collection is so small. it takes 30 seconds to scan the entire collection.

ideya- best brunch in the city. we always go there.

uni-qlo- hey everybody, it's the japanese old navy! anyway, i was most impressed with the design and quality of the goods in this store. it is a definite stop to pick up affordable wardrobe fillers. i can see undergrads chewing this place up. and if it spread all across the land, would put old navy and the gap out of business.

odin- i like what they are doing. didn't realize that it was inspired by japanese fashion sense. the store was smaller than I expected. they could use more brands of jeans. what they had was good, but I didn't find anything. passed on some eng. garm. pants on sale. i think they need to drop rogues gallery; those shirts are overpriced, and remind me too much of barking irons.

famous friends- man, what a walk. again, wasn't expecting the whole japanese thing, or the small size. however, great selection for what they had. everything seemed to be on sale. pretty much all things rogan, 5ep, or any other hot denim at the moment. didn't like to see acne jeans. that is the stupidest name for clothes. again, gf noticed great jewelry selection. picked up a 5EP western shirt on sale.

giant robot- love this place. makes you realize how good their website is because it's like you are looking at it when you walk around. one of the best places for vinyl toys, and all things emerging art. oh yeah, and it was established that the theme of our tour today was japanese.

cynthia rowley- she gave me odin, so i gave her cynthia. i sense that cynthia will delve into menswear. i don't know, i just feel it.

magnolia- had to stop for cupcakes to relive lazy sunday. they are like krispy creme; you have to eat them fresh off of the pan, and you can only eat one. all and all, don't see the draw.

jeff soto opening in chelsea- this man is the next tim biskup and gary baseman. great stuff, although i couldn't afford it. it got crowded fast, and we felt displaced by the bring-your-own-pbr hipster crowd.

pop burger- now this was a great dinner for a -30 degree night. we did take out, and i was impressed by the onion rings and fries. the burgers were what white castle probably aspired to be.

    Hey Giant Reptile

Went there Nov 05, had a mental time saw the Artic Monkeys and Ryan Adams, anyhow shops:

Steven Alan - disappointed, not what I expected.

    Number Nine - ditto

    Cloak - ditto

Odin - good shop was impressed, good pieces unlike the rest of New York

Famous Friends - Richard is cool, shop is cool, good one off pieces but felt there wasn't anything truly unque.

Nomme De Guerre - pish selection reminds me of Jones in London - hit or miss - and it was definitely MISS

Atrium - cattle market for mass produced jeans - still wonder how prps and the like want to keep exclusive when on the shelves in here - dreadful shop.....

    Alife - mis

Unless you've tried a pair on before you buy online - they might aswell be fake!!!

I've two pairs of PRPS - two very different fits and differing lengths - how can you honestly believe your getting a bargain!!!

Don't just buy for the label - ensure they FIT, the DETAILING is what you want and the CUT is there and the DENIM is lush ....
