In order to get limited edition shoes, lets use special edition dunks as an example, do folks go straight to Nike for a specialty shoe account, or is it a bit more complicated than that???

You seem to be a very judgmental figure here in this thread. For starters, I dont skate, however I am a sneaker fiend. Same goes for fashion as well. DC already lacks the type of stores in which people like myself can go to get speacialtyy sneakers, as well as up and coming/independent labels. By NO MEANS would I open a store of this nature just to gain profit! So in your words, I am into this sh*t! Just gotta start making some connects!
Secondly, I would say that all of the clubs that have been mentioned as nightlife hotspots are just those. Honestly, I wouldnt even compare some of them with others for the simple fact that many of them cater to totally different cultural backgrounds! So calling them cheeseball, or ridiculing the fashion of those that frequent them, is definitely not cool and uncalled for! Nonetheless, they are all worthy of a visit for those headed to the DC area anytime soon.

Judge...I definitely feel where your coming from. I think DC is definitely in need of more cool spots which specialize in hard to find/exclusice sneakers, clothing labels, etc. As far as getting those connects so that one may be able to receive those "exclusive" goods, kicks in particular, I definitely know that its all in who you know. I mean really what do you recommend someone do for starters?? I mean I'm just a student right now myself, but what can I do...I cant just flat out ask folks. I mean should one start to make trips up to NYC and other places to research stores??? or start finding out about wholesale prices from stores???

I wouldnt say that getting a Mac nowadays is "cliche", just look at it as people finally stepping outside of the norm into a better realm of computers. Lets face it man, Macs are waaaayyy better, not just because of their looks either. Tell you what...if u ever have the opportunity look at a simple website like this one on your Pc, and then go look at it on a Mac. no comparison! Its just the simple things like that, that can really sway your mind onto the Mac side of things!!!

DC:
-as far as shopping goes, make sure you hit up Georgetown, aside from that, Tysons Corner and Pentagon City are some of the main shopping galleries in the area tho. There right over the river in Northern VA.
-as far as eating goes:
dont know of any major ones to point out...I'm just a regular Friday's/Ruby's kinda guy. However, your sure to find some good spots in Georgetown, as well as in the 7th Street (near MCI Center), Connecticut Ave, and Adams Morganareas.

what kind of work do you plan on doing on your notebook anyway??? that might help us to make a better recommendation for you. however, generally speaking I would say go with either the ibook or the powerbook. I have an iBook G4, and I'm definitely lovin it!! I use it to do basic task (ie. word processing, internet, etc) as well as some graphic design and photography work.

I'm from DC as well. So what brands in particular cause you to make the trip up to philly or NY?? and are you saying that even if someone created a store where they werent "behind" with fashion, you still wouldnt mess with it???

so if someone opened an NY type store in DC (ie. Supreme, DQM, type) are you saying that it wouldnt be cool??

love always out weighs the hate!
Vacant is cool and very original in the books of many.
as said before in this thread, if they're so lame, why hasve so many companies/store tried to imitate the Vacant concept a million times over?!?!?!
