  1. i am looking for a flight or other travel arrangement into manhattan (or at least jfk) from tokyo, absolutely have to arrive downtown (near chinatown) by 9:00 pm the night of june 6th.

i cannot compensate you in cash, but i have the following to trade, pick 1 or some combination:

    1. a ps3, 60 gb, gently used

    2. a pair of rare, discontinued japanese jeans produced by a very reputable brand, or hook-ups to buying from that brand, e-mail me for the brand.

    3. free/ heavily discounted services as the following:

    a) as graphic designer/ visual artist, set designer/decorator and/or art director: print, web, tv/film, interactive/ gaming

    B) production on a film or photography set, or for a short term interactive/ gaming project

    c) as talent, i have experience modeling for prominent fashion/ culture pubs and in indie films

    5. a room in san francisco on top of russian hill for up to a week; shared, but it's a very pleasant environment, complete with a yard and good company.

hit me up asap for further details on any of the above. i have pictures of the items for barter, pictures of myself, sample work, and my resume + references.

it takes 12-14 hours for trips between japan and the eastern united states, so travel arrangements will have to be solid by tomorrow 8am est (9pm today, tokyo time.) if you have a transferrable ticket you don't need, or need an air courier, or know of an empty leg on a charter, or work for an airline, or willing to pick up a hitchhiker on your jet, please contact me ASAP.

  2. now gently used.

hoping for $500 with 2 games (ridge racer 7 and resistance: fall of man.)

yes, both games have been played through rather extensively. you can get the system with or without the saved data.

don't want the games? not a problem. can be priced lower.

    hit me up if interested.

  3. thank you for the advice and attn.

i don't know what their rationale is for discontinuing the aihikos or the process by which they came to this decision.

economically, there are a multitude of reasons for which companies discontinue products. sometimes companies discontinue stuff bc of lack of demand, an example being the sega master or the chevy gremlin. sometimes items are discontinued or are produced in limited quantities bc the cost of production is too high, for example the lotus seven or metal alloy gundam models. you name it.

as mentioned before, they themselves call this their most basic model.

i'd say the cut is similar to the old sorahikos, the difference, as mentioned, is that the indigo is a specific species. it's difficult to capture the fabric's colours with a digital picture seen on a monitor, as you all know.

i would describe it as a similar shade to underglaze blue procelain, but in a darker tone. it's a more intense blue than sorahiko, and not quite as fashionable. this is a collector's item.

i can't lower the price any further. if anything, my cost of operation has risen because i've had to carry these around and i'd have to reraise them to $350. i've shipped a few pairs of sorahikos already and those who received them seem to be satisfied.

i am fairly busy and moving around quite a bit, please forgive me if i don't answer pms and e-mails right away.

  4. measurements:

    waist: 31

    fr rise: 10.5"

    back rise: 13.25

    upper thigh: 9.75

    inseam: 34.5"

    knee: 18

    leg opening: 16

come on cheapos, ready, set, consume. these are still available. maybe i should go to another forum cuz apparently you guys don't like discontinued, vintage-loom-weaved, japanese indigo jeans that much, despite of all the talk. that or maybe it's time for a diet cuz the 34"s sold fast.

still accepting orders for to be delivered in march, i'm not going back to japan til then.

  5. going to taiwan for school would not be bad for business with china. it would be very good for business with china, actually, because taiwan and china do business. duh.

the hku campus is tiny, there's a tiny tower and quaint little brick and stone buildings. it looks kind of like a liberal arts college, except kids there are incredibly intense and goodie goodie. it's the kind of place where you can't skate if you didn't like the curriculum. personally, i find their range of programs too narrow.

with languages, it depends on who you roll with more than anything. hong kong isn't so good for learning mandarin.

why do you not prefer to stay in shanghai for an extended period?

  6. no, all natural.

only difference is aihiko uses indigo indigenous to certain parts of china which was imported to and grown in japan during the edo period and has a distinct blue colour that's associated with japanese textile culture. the story behind this particular shade of blue and japan i will tell another day cuz i am really effin busy today.

the other jeans also use natural indigo. they simply blend different species to give it the the desired colour.

fact #4: all 45 rpm jeans are made of zimbabwe cotton, jomon is the only model made from organic (zimbabwe) cotton.

    ok, now order.

  7. in response to some of the enquiries:

fact #1: all 45rpm jeans are dyed with natural indigo.

fact #2: nandoxnando: dyed warp and weft denim fabric (the original 45rpm fabric,) is *not* available in organic cotton, that means "nandoxnando jomon" does not exist because of fact #3

    fact #3:

:: a pair of "jomon" has the following characteristics ::

    (1) jomon is always made of organic cotton

    (2) jomon is *only* available in ONE cut and ONE colour: slim leg medium rise: see sizing chart here for a smilar cut:

i am going into the shop on saturday to help them with some stuff, i will have a more comprehensive fit guide then, which i will post here.

i am still taking orders in the meanwhile, but i have a shoot on wednesday, so get your queries in before noon tomorrow for speedier reply.

  8. To Do:

Lapa on a friday night (bars and clubs)

Bar Do Mineiro in Santa Tereza on a saturday night (best portuguese bar in Rio)

Corcovado when the weather s nice (yes, it s great up there)

Club ZeroZero near the Planetario in Gavea (best club in Rio, stylish and ONLY supermodels)

Ipanema beach near to the Apoador (the big stone)...best location...definetly watch the sunset from there...

    Not to do:

Buying coke at Favela Amarelinho, unless you wanna die.

    Shopping:

forget it. Anything you can get there is cheaper outside of Brazil.

  9. i think it's mudslinging.

i like the 360 as well, but they're of completely different capacities. personally, i want a wii. it don't matter, i will have to own all 3.

developers don't like the ps3 because sony sent out the dev kits late. it's not that difficult. devs are letting out negative news to buy some time and probably to milk more support from sony. i know some people working at the dev lab at sony here, theyre short on hands so they're only able to respond to large developers. sony is mismanaged, it is a real problem, but the system itself has quite a bit of integrity. i also like how bold sony is coming in with the system specs. the specs are high enough that it can outlast competing systems. i think it's going to work out pretty much the same way between the gamecube and ps2, they already have their niches carved out and everyone agrees that it works better that way. the xbox doesn't have as big a market outside of north america, so the ps3 will definitely survive, and i think its integrity will only be confirmed longer down the road. it's not hard to develop for the ps3, i mean if you can program in unix you can develop for the ps3. nerds who jumped on the ps3 went home to immediately start programming space invaders or whatnot. it's that kind of system. it's like having a commodore all over again. *drool*

    heheh.

    i don't know.

i don't want this system cuz other people want it, i want it cuz i want it. i am broke at the moment and need some cash so i needs to sell her. ebay to europe was unsuccessful because ebay france kept deleting my listing. so here she, is. my baby that i got from some dude in sendai after 12 hours of yahoo auctions. the asking price is ideal, but i am open to reasonable offers.
