Nice to see the Islington map here. This area is where I spent my last 6 months of London. When it comes to shops around there, I instantly think of pubs or supermarkets.....(!), but here're some shops for music lovers or drinkers. I'm looking forward to seeing the complete map. Good Luck.
The Embassy Bar
For a good night out.
"North London favourite The Embassy obviously have a good way with their staff. It really makes a difference when the bar people seem to be enjoying themselves, and this place fairly hums with friendly good vibes. The music swings across a broad spectrum with an emphasis on Urban cuts and Hip Hop, and plenty of recognisable club favourites to get that dance-floor packed. Embassy is a great place."
"Music junkies will have most likely already paid a visit to this, the first Reckless shop that opened in 1983. The shop is split into two departments, the upstairs caters for cds, videos, and the non-dance vinyl, whilst the downstairs department, the Islington Soul Basement, specialises in soul and dance music."
"new and second hand vinyl, cd's and videos. an excellent selection at a very reasonable price, and good service. the manager mark really knows his stuff inside out and back to front. very passionate about his music. reckless also offers good service - definatly miles better than those record and tape exchanges, populated by people who would rather be somewhere else. hmv in the new complex."
Traditional English food, Sausage and Mash. They have veggie meals, too. The Islington branch was opened after I came back to Japan. So, I always went to the Notting Hill branch.
Islington Branch
This used to be a cafe called Alfrado's, which was used for a classic mod film Quadrophenia.
