  1. Kyoto is a beautiful city, filled with amazing gardens and temples. There are to many to name all of the good ones, but my favourites are the various sand gardens of the Daitokuiji temple complex. There are maybe 20 or 30, although usually only 10 or so are open on the same day. A great variety of amazing sand gardens.

The other thing I always do in Kyoto is geisha hunt around Pontocho.

I live in tokyo, but its hard to recommend any one thing, there's stuff to do everywhere.

  2. wow thanks for the info everyone esp. that bit about car leasing - actually I'm australian but will be travelling on my british passport so not sure it will apply, but I will look into it so thanks.

Sonar sounds good, I haven't been to a big festival in ageeeesss.......

I've just decided I want to go the palace in Alhambra (17 types of ceramic tile tesselations!) which is south so maybe keep on going to Gibraltar......but I want to see the Guggenheim in Bilbao and I want to get wasted and see a bullfight too so I guess there will be a lot of ground to cover!

  3. My gf and I will be in spain for 3 weeks in June - plan is to hire a car in Barcelona and just drive around.... anybody got any recommendations for places to go and things to do? Sorry thats a bit vague I know... m^_^m

I guess we want to hit beaches a lot, I'm into spearfishing and we both want to party heaps (but not like everyday :) ) . Also if anybody's got any car hire advice that would be great as I'm a bit unsure whether to book before I go or just do it there. Budget is tight but not shoestring. All help much appreciated!

  4. I take the challenge yoyojo - but as I don't have my own yum cha, are the any yum cha restaurent owners on this forum interested in having a fri. & sat. late night makeover for their resturaunt. If so, PM me, as yoyojo will attest, I've experience in club promo, technical skills and I'm a total nazi as far as budgets go, so on time, under budget and satisfation guareented is what I offer to you. How could it not work?

jeez, what the hell am I talking about? yum cha disco!? am I out of mind.... jo I haven't sleep for a day or so, so things are getting fuzzy......

... but you know, it 'could' work.....

  5. hey yoyo jo, I found you on the forum. Remember your going away yum cha last month, was that East Ocean? that was good. Remember how it has those disco lights set up above our table and we talked about how to combine disco and yum cha : "disco yum cha" I still think its a great idea, and now I offer it to the world. Its is mandatory that the serving girls wear mini chongsams and rollerskates, and the waiters should wear one shiny glove ala m.jackson and do thriller moves when presenting the bill. Don' know how the food will mix with synthetics though, may get a little 'freaky'....
