  1. Hey,

Will be in Hong Kong for a week for work in Mid November. From there I'm thinking to spend a week relaxing on a beach somewhere in Phuket.

Ideally I'm looking for a beach thats quiet but still has some nightlife nearby.

Any recommendations, places to stay in, or avoid?

    cheers!

  2. For custom shirts I used Jantzen and was happy with the quality.

    http://www.jantzentailor.com/

I can't remember the name of the place I used for suits, it was in central somewhere. I know there is a lot of places for suits around Nathan Road. Sams Tailor is suppossed to be good, possibly high mark ups due to being very touristy.

I know Landy (on this board) who got some made from www.hkbroadwaycustomtailor.com and the suits came out great.

Definitely take a picture with you, the more info you give them the better.

  3. Was in the Silverchord Mall about 2 weeks ago, agreed with Landy, not much stock at this location. Prob head over to Causeway Bay first.

And in terms of the it sale shop in silverchord mall, I wasn't too impressed. A ton of oversized Futura hoodies. Didn't see any APC stuff when I went.

  4. So I just got back to HK a couple weeks ago. Thank God for this forum and everyone with the great tips.

Areas/stores which I liked the most:

Trendyzone Mall (basement) - Nathan Road Mongkok: tons of streetwear and sneakers (supreme, stussy, original fake....etc, etc)

    Mongkok - sneaker street

Indu Homme - Causeway Bay: great fitting jackets

DevilClot Pop up store - Central: friendly staff talked to them for a bit

Exit by Double Park: TST, granville road: hard to find this joint as it is unmarked, across the street from take 5, look for stairs going down....(bunch of japanese brands like ubiq, montage, etc)

Take 5 jeans: TST, granville road: bought a pair of samuraii's and got the superfuture discount :)

Reach: TST granville road: 3rd floor, look for a stand selling some famous HK pancake like things on granville road. take the stairs behind the stall up to the third floor. Staff was super friendly here: brands - undefeated, react subcrew, stardust

Shenzen China: went here for a day trip to lo wu mall......lots of bargaining LOL

Macau - day trip. checked out the Venetian. Vegas of Asia!!

Clubbing in Lan Kwai Fong: Checked out Bejing Club, Pi Club, Number 9

  5. Just got back from HK a couple weeks ago.

Got all my shirts made at Janzten Tailor. Great workmanship, definitely recommended!

Got my suits made at Cheung Hing Tailor in Central. My friends in HK get there stuff made there so I just went there with them. Pre-trip I was planning to go to HK Custom Tailor (mirador arcade on nathan road, tst). I was very pleased with the outcome of the Cheung Hing Tailor, you really need to specify what u want and how u want it cut. I just made sure I wanted the suit to be fitted (aka very slim). Taking some pictures from magazines wouldn't hurt either. He didn't speak english though, so if your thinking about seeing him, take someone who speaks chinese.

  6. Sup everyone,

I'm going to HK in mid November. I saw an earlier thread about tailor made suits and shirts on this board a few months ago.

Anyways I was just looking to get some info on what places are worth checking out?

I remember a name someone had mentioned H.K Custom Tailors in the Mirador Arcade? How much? How was the quality? Did you bring in a pic from a magazine?

Is there any other tailors you have had positive experiences and recommend? I'm looking to pick up 3-4 suits, shirts and ties.

on a different note also looking to cop some Jordans in HK....any suggestions?

    Peace
