Feist - Let It Die. Not a new release, but re-releasing it for US this month I believe. The female voice behind Kings of Convenience has come out with what I believe to be one of the most phenomenal albums in the Cat Power 'Sulty Indie Women' genre, and one of the best of the year.

Walter Beirendonck (www.waltervanbeirendonck.com) - King of kitch. 'nuff said.

Bless (www.bless.de) - Not sure if it fits ur store, but they come with AMAZING stuff.

As for mags:

Marmalade (http://www.marmalademag.com/) - Brilliant stuff. Making a buzz in the scene with abundant amount of creativity.

Good for Nothing (http://www.goodfornothingmag.com/) - Another lifestyle mag that's getting props. Damn funny and damn good. Check out the site.

If you want something closer to home - Complex and Cargo are decent mags. Commercialised tripe maybe, but pretty well-done ones.

It's spelled 'Perhentian'. When you're on those beautiful islands ask wherever you're staying to bring you to Monkey Beach. No monkeys there, just that its an isolated strip ideal for skinny dipping - hence the name.

Yup, Cameron Highlands does have upscale resorts there. Frankly, I'm surprised the beauty remains despite the overt commercialism over the past decade or so.

Do avoid Sunway Lagoon Resort, it's nice granted, but as you said it is situated in some Disneyland-type hell and its located in the middle of some housing estates. Ideally, go to Club Med in Kuantan which at the top of my head isn't some form of tourist trap.
