Air in Daikanyama usually has pretty good DJ's on the reg. Harlem for hip hop stuff.. there's plenty to do, just check for flyers in the clothes shops. go to any Beams and you should be able to find out what the hot shit is. or just hit up any of the record shops in shibuya, DMR or something. I went a month ago for a week, and there was a weekend where I had to choose between, Kenny Dope, Spinna, Keb Darge, Towa Tei, Cut Chemist, Keoru Inoue and that was just for Friday night... Tokyo is always jumpin..

just peeping this..my bad. I think I read the TROY story in wax poetics interview with PR. as far as their catalogs go, I see what you're sayin. "just hangin out" sounds like a pete rock beat too. got the horns from the stalag riddim that pete used on maaaad songs. who knows if either of us are right, but I think my version is from the horses mouth if my memory serves me correctly.Quote:
don't want to start fucked up rumors over an undeniably classic song, but i was told Large pro gave him the record with the sax looped, already chopped with drums. All Pete did was throw in the 'yeah's and the 'just listen' and the 'for the nineties' shit.Quote:T.R.O.Y. was not Ghost produced by Large Pro, Large Pro gave PR the Tom Scott Record and pointed out the sample. Pete Rock made the beat by himself. don't think that counts as ghost producing...

The scenario you're talking about (just giving him the song and pointing out samples) is Large Pro puttin Black Sheep onto it...they would eventually use the same song (Today) for Similak Child.
who knows and since it's my fav. song of all time (tied with Know the Ledge), i don't really care who did it. both extra p and peterock are mad skilled producers. but when i listen to both of their catalogues, it seems to me more of a Large pro beat...but maybe you're right after all.

I would say it's both KKK stuff and Illuminati/ NWO stuff. a mix. The KKK is a secret society after all, hence the white hoods.

I'm black and I don't use the word. I make it a point not to. but sometimes when I get drunk and with my friends or family, it slips out. I've been raised with the word, and it is a part of my vernacular. I hate it. If you went to one of my family functions (BBQ,Reunion etc.) it would be the most overheard word I'm sure. but all the people saying it would denounce using the word if you asked them. I think it's ingrained in our psyche. I think it got really bad between the late 50's and the early seventies. basically the civil rights movement. when tensions between blacks and whites were high in the south, I think southern whites used the word as a verbal weapon to accompany the lynchings and church bombings and what have you. So America associates the usage of the word with that time period. which is one of our darker moments.. however in the late seventies and early eighties once Black people were comfortable in their freedoms... the pimp, disco, soul, and hip hop cultures probably started using the word in a cool and "mocking" way.. as to say "fuck those white people". Like imagine some black dudes on the corner shooting the shit after the civil rights movement . "Nigga what's up with your shoes?" in a southern white twang "Fuck you Nigga". comedy and hilarity ensues. couple this with years and years of rap music and you have our present culture... shit is weak. I'm a rapper and I don't use the word in my songs unless I'm trying to make a point with the usage... what really made me address it is seeing our cultural impact on other countries. In Germany for instance, when the whitest of white German guy comes up to you like "what's up my nigga?" something is wrong. you gotta check yourself. It's happened to me everywhere.. Brazil, Japan...everywhere. but at the end of the day. it's just a word. and I must admit there's something sexy and mystical about it.. it just sounds good. I think that's what all the fuss is about. people like saying the word because it sounds good. like pussy. pussy sounds good too. and everybody says it. I know some girls that hate that word. and that's because it gets under your skin.. say it with me.....PUSSY!!!!! NIGGA!!!!

the red dot lines is a good route from shibuya station, it's kind of hard to explain without actually being there. you shouldn't have any problems..that map is good.

if you are staying at tokyu stay shin minamiguchi, it is right around the corner from cerulean, same side of the street. go under the bridge and in between the two train tracks there is a street next to the noodle shop.
coming from cerulean you would make a right, go up the steps and go toward the end of that street and it's on the left hand side. really easy to find. there is another tokyu stay in shibuya just past the vestax store... I went back and forth between the two my last trip. also I must say Cerulean is much nicer than Shibuya Excel. I've stayed at both. although experiencing a slight earthquake in either sucks balls....

lo pro I feel you.
Hip Hop records are for the most part disposable.
I'm a DJ and playing out at clubs yu get to see shit first hand.
when a song that is really dope but a year or two old, people stop dancing to it.
Drop It like it's hot ain't that hot anymore.
who still bumps snoops Paid tha cost album?
motherfuckers be believing the hype on some high school shit.
none of his songs are gonna stay around.
people will not be bumping gold digger in a year like they are now.
It will soon be forgotten.
It's perfect timing in that jamie just won an oscar for ray, so people are all on the dilz.
marketing yo.
Kanye is smart though and he will probably follow Jay Z's example in dropping an album pretty much every year just to stay in the publics consciousness.
get your money mang.
