Yo where's best and most reasonably priced for staying in London? Somewhere cool, but won't bankrupt me.

Also, going to Paris, so any recommendations for there would be great too.

Back in high school these 2 Puerto Rican kids moved up from the Bronx and got me hooked on "Mad" as an expression for quantity and frequency. "Mega" and "Ultra" were soon to follow. Then I moved to California and everyone out there says "Hella" for the same purpose that East Coasters use "Mad". There is nothing more annoying than the word "Hella".

You should Google Bobbito Garcia and read some of his books, that'll give you plenty of insight into NY Hip Hop culture that has originated so much of the slang that we hear today.

I used to live in Boston and I would say I agree with the above comments/suggestions.

My suggestions would be to check out the following places (I don't know how shiny and glitzy you want to get, so there is a variety here just to be safe):

Try some of the bars like Vox on Boylston if you're in the Back Bay...but keep in mind Boston is a college town so it's mostly cheesey bars filled with jocks and the locals are townies with bad accents...if you want the more upscale crowd like the people who moved/are visiting from out of town like yourself, then stick with the downtown spots and stay away from the college campuses.

Also, if you can stomach a dive bar there is a spot on Mass. Ave. in the South End called Wally's that has serious jazz/funk jam sessions by Berkeley College of Music's best and brightest.
