can't agree with emergency_room more...HK's fascinating spot to find locally manufactured bags etc. another resource would be TOUGH its centrally located on the island peninsula shopping center at causeway bay...great bags/ wallets accessories

i would recommend the following :
Gary Castles Shoes @ Paddington - Oxford street
designer shoe salon @ Grace Bros' - they have a fabulous local brand Roberts Roberts
also the shoe salon @ David Jones both these stores are at the main shopping drag on Pitt Street
please try Queen Victoria Building George Street between Town Hall and Market Street.
as there are many designer boutiques there.
also try The Strand Arcade on Pitt Street just a stone throw from Meyers

can't agree more on your comments on the beds at Mandarin Oriental:) But on the nightlife...i bet you either have the bad experience of stumbling onto the sad-low-life existence of beach club and surrounding night spots.
there are a couple of super-cool lounge anc clubs in KL...and the crowds are fantastic.
the next time round check out Frangipani Bar and Bar Savanh and The Disco:)
