Building on the success of their previous show (issue release party #3) headlined by Egon(Stonesthrow) and Steinski, the Friends of Sound return to Pianos to celebrate the release of their fourth issue up now at www.friendsofsound.com .
About the Headliners:
Stezo - Known for the classic “It’s My Turn†from his 1989 LP “Crazy Noiseâ€, Stezo, a Connecticut legend, makes a rare New York City appearance. Hip-hop purists know that this is one of the few chances to see a pioneer who epitomized an era of early ‘90s east coast hip-hop. Vanguard label Stonesthrow is slated to drop his previously unreleased second album, produced by Dooley-O, this year.
Dooley-O - A long-time fixture of the Connecticut hiphop scene, has recently resurfaced with the recent Stones Throw release of his forgotten “Watch My Moves†12â€. A rabid beat digger, graf writer, rapper and producer, Dooley-O has been connected with some of hip-hop’s most fertile scenes including L.A.’s Good Life Café, which gave rise to Jurassic 5, the Graffiti TV series, and helping Egon assemble the new critically acclaimed Third Unheard compilation.
Amir – Along with his partner Kon, Amir defined beat tapes in the middle Nineties with their now legendary On Track series. Most recently he and Kon put together their Uncle Junior’s Fish Fry project, Amir is expected to keep audiences wondering if he should consult a professional regarding his unhealthy obsession with old records.
