@rodeo

Will I lose much of the taper if I were to hem them to my usual length of 32.

I usually double cuff and have a little stacking with a 32 inseam.

How much shrinkage should I expect from a hot wash and tumble dry on high!

I know this may be blasphamy for some people :P

Cheers

130s are tapered in a straight line from the thigh to the hem, so you won't lose a disproportionate amount of the taper by shortening them.

^no blasphemy! If you're buying rinsed or dyed jeans I reckon you'll lose max around an inch in the waist and leg with a hot wash & tumble, although it might stretch out again in the waist. If they're raw you'll lose max 3" in the waist and 4" in the leg. I suggest waiting to hem them until you've washed them as hot as you plan to. Hope this helps

Totally agree dwarffruit!  All of it looks good.  Can't wait to see the piece broken in.  I'm hoping someone on here will get something and do some pics.

Hi Bill, do you think those barge jeans stretch at all in the waist, or hang pretty much at their measurement like duck usually does?

Context get things photographed quickly! I'm really happy with how their special orders came out- couldn't be a better way to introduce the season. I'll put up full photos asap.

^apba1166, I'm delighted you're interested in a pair. The canvas softens up quite a lot but barely stretches at all, so please by true-to-the measurements. No push intended at all, but just to let you know, carrot-dyed navy jeans are only for Context, and there aren't many of them!

I'm in Japan at the moment (always a treat). Before I get on to posting some SS15 stuff, just a little heads up for anyone in Kyoto, we'll be doing a Tender trunk show at Loftman COOP on Saturday, and it'd be lovely to see anyone who's around. We did something similar at Silver & Gold in Osaka in the autumn, which was really fun.

trunk show SF?

I've discussed something like this with both Unionmade and Standard & Strange- I'd love to but it hasn't quite worked out yet. You'll be the first to know!

Does that mean Loftman Kyoto will be carrying Tender soon?

Will be in Kyoto real soon, would love to check the new stuff out...

Loftman's carried Tender since the 2010! They have a great selection and they're good friends. In fact Masa Nakanishi, the buyer, stayed with us last weekend  :). You should definitely stop by- they (and other stores internationally) will start receiving their orders in he next week or so.

Hi y'all. Sorry for the lack of updates- I was in Japan last week and I'm back to shipping out deliveries, so there's lots going on. The new production will be showing up soon, and to answer Billy & Andrew's questions, in the UK a bit of Tender will now be stocked by Oi Polloi, in Manchester and their new London store, which will be opening later in the Spring. Very exciting! Along with them, new stockists will be Meadow in Malmo, Sweden, New State, online in the UK, and The Superior Labor, Okayama (I'm a big fan, so this is particularly nice).

So, as I said, last week I was in Japan, first in Tokyo for a private exhibition for Tender's stockists, and then for a trunk show at Loftman, in Kyoto. This time more than ever I saw an incredible number of people wearing my things. Here are a few pictures of shop owners, in Shibuya:

rinsed 129s, pretty new, on the owner of hAg Le

a nicely worn-in pair of woad 130s on one of the buyers from Loftman:

A beautiful pair of 132s, worn from raw by Mr Ueki, who works for Descente, amazing technical sportswear:

Mr Shioya, of Brown & Seedling's exemplary woad 132s, I think about 4 years in:

and his linen tail shirt, which has aged incredibly:

@PrettyFresh

Looking at the size chart is the shirt supposed to be loose fitting.

I'm usually a 40 for shirts.

Yeah I would say its loose fitting in the chest and the shoulders. However, the length of the shirt is on the shorter side. If your okay with that, I think it'll fit you well. Feel free to pm me with any other questions or if you want specific measurements. Cheers

^thanks! Lots more....

So now onto Kyoto, and Loftman, which I can't recommend enough- they have 6 shops in Kyoto along an indoor/outdoor mall, as well as two more shops in Osaka. Each store has a different feeling to it, and Tender's upstairs in Loftman COOP, which is slightly slower paced and more grownup than some of the other areas, which are a bit more sporty or fashiony. As well as Tender they sell The Franklin Tailored (amazing!), Frank Leder, Comme des Garcons Homme, and Old Curiosity Shop shoes. I was at the shop all day Saturday, and it was incredible how many people came in wearing Tender. I'm afraid I lost count, and didn't get photos of everyone, but here's a taster.....:

This is Hiro, he's been kind enough to let me post some photos of his jeans before (draped over a tractor, a few pages back) and he's a great friend of the brand. This was the first time we'd met in person, though, and it was a real pleasure. He's a lovely and extremely interesting guy. A couple more pictures of him and his clothes to follow later, but here's what he was wearing on Saturday:
