Iron Army Jeans

Finally washed my raw Sebastians after 325 days and 191 wears (or somewhere around there). They were pretty damn filthy and smelled like the 9th ring of Satan's anus... what after wearing them for 6 months in hot and humid Rio, and then finishing it off with a month of traveling, backpacking and hiking around the Pantanal, Amazon and Maranhao.

Pretty impressed with how they've changed color and am generally happy with the wear and contrast I've gotten on them. I'm actually planning on visiting the headquarters next week, so I'll see if I can take some pictures of them next to a new pair of Sebastians to see how they've truly changed.

I believe they're all the same, except for that they come in Straight and Skinny varieties. The names just refer to the color of the denim/stitching.

wow. they really look like they're out of a denim laundry. Not at all like the japanese brands. It's cool like they mimic how laundry houses want pre-distressed denim to look like, but they're realistic. kudos

neonlights: the hiro's look good man, my person favourite grossness of the raw denim process is checking out what colors the pocket lining is turning, im about 9 months into a pair of toshiro skinny's (not everyday wear though) and the pocket lining is about as brown as the denim....kinda creepy

Man, this thread is starting to get exciting again. I remember when I first found about IA, I was really interested in finding a pair and buying them. Now I find myself trying to find a pair at a decent price and in the one wash or raw. I also remember finding out about the 777 contest. Seeing how amazing the jeans change over the seven month period is an amazing thing. Now, I find myself trying to get in to the next one, if there is a next one. I guess if I get in, then it will be a great thing, but if I don't then who cares, it's just a contest. It's like everything else in life, if you get in then you get in, but if you don't then you don't. I can't wait to see what the twist is.

Made it to the IA factory/HQ a couple days ago. I can not emphasize too much how great these guys are. Steve was more than happy (or at least pretended to be!) to spend an hour of his busy day bullshitting with me and showing me around the place. Good, genuine people are rare, and I imagine especially so in this industry, so it really meant a lot to me. I strongly suggest anyone who can try to swing by some day and check it out!

I bought the Toshiro skinny's in size 31, as opposed to my raw Sebastian straights, which are 29. The size 30 sebastian straights fit me perfectly at the time, but I was into the whole size down thing (which my testicles and I regret), so went for 29. Size 31 in the Toshiro skinny's fit me perfectly. I posted in WAYWT this morning wearing the toshiros if you want to get an idea of the fit.

Would you recommend sizing down on the straights? the fades are awesome, but the crotch rips kind of make me hesitant of sizing down
