Sad news. Went by today, and they had sold out of all of them. Apparently a full rack of them sold in about a week. Good things don't last, I guess.

They are selling digital camo ones for $120 - but they aren't genuine issue (real issued CADPAT is illegal to sell). The tags inside are commercial; they say something like "NATO Item number" but aren't the standard NSN tag. Plus, and most importantly to me, they only come in regular sizes (M/L/XL), whereas the genuine-issue olive ones I saw came in tall and short sizes as well.

Oh well.

On the upside, I scored these awesome mittens for $10. Norwegian army, I think?

Anyone familiar with Lad Musician MA-1s? Normally a 44, and 42 being too small typically due to the slim high armholes, but I'm a 42 in their M-65 which has that dropped shoulder positioning of theirs. I think the MA-1s have the dropped shoulder positioning too, so not too sure if I should be a 44 or a 42.

Anyone know any surplus stores in la/oc socal in general?

The one in Hollywood at Santa Monica & Vine is pretty rad, I'd say they have a better selection of unusual items than the Venice & Motor one. Lots of old deadstock Levi's in horrible sizes too.

Libertine-Libertine

Looks kinda cool in this muted photo, not so sure about it in this photo.

EDIT: Saw it in person today, it's washed out like in the pic shown (my preference), instead of saturated like the linked photo.

Thought this would be really dope too. But in person it's wack as fuck. there's a bright red and blue in the camo. Not like in the picture above, but really bright.

I got this vintage knapsack a while back

Distressed camel/olive green color synergy going on here IRL.

When i first took it home i found some retro oriental looking stuff lodged inside. kind of strange.

Hello guys,

I'm looking to get a repro ecwcs parka in solid colors, either black, tan or olive. I've been looking on the net and found these options:

Tru spec:

http://www.uscav.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=9889&tabid=548

Alpha:

http://www.aviationsupermart.com/store/p/25737-NYCO-ECWCS-Jacket.html

Houston (Japanese repro brand?):

http://en.item.rakuten.com/kawa/ho5025/

Random japanese brand(?):

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/valiente-shop/mm-10411/

Does anyone has any experience with one of these brands? which do you guys think is the best out of these 4 ?

Thanks!

tru spec has ok performance materials in a standard american fit.

Glad to see this thread is keeping up on the first page.

I'm not super knowledgeable in military field jackets but I'd like to pick one up. I think the model I'm after is an M-65 with tiger camo (someone correct me if I'm wrong with the spec on that).

Any thoughts if this would be something that is still in production or am I best trolling eBay/vintage stores?

Thought I would post some pictures of my late granddads Navy sweater. He served in the Navy for England during WW2 and had all kinds of crazy stories... turns out every boat he was ever on got sunk and he made it out alive. This sweater as well as his sailors knife are two of my most cherished possessions.

Very, very cool. I would cherish it as well. Looks like the sweater is in wearable condition as well... do you ever rock it?

My great-grandfather was a "bazooka-man" (artillery) in WWII. I wish my grandmother would have held on to his uniforms and such. Would be great to have as a keepsake.

Ayo, if anyone knows...

I'm trying to recreate these Relwen pants off an existing and available pant body. I have a friend who can cut and sew them up pretty close to what I have pictured, but I'm having a hard time finding a surplus style pant that isn't a cargo or a pleated officer chino. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I figured most of you guys are probably way more familiar with this stuff than I am...

weak + rep and 9000 internets to anyone with a lead.

Cinched leg opening isn't necessary, as I can have it re-created. Just the basic body of the pant should work.

Thanks!

It doesn't fit but I ordered the navy Gant Rugger version for the fall when my store did it's orders. Going to see if I can find some paint or whatever to do the Navy writing on it like the vintage one. Anyone have any suggestions on what i can use to write Navy on a new wool sweater similarly to this one?
