It wil be interesting to see the front pockets- definitely not the Elfelt version hodis did. We should have an answer when he gets back from his trip.

So I’ve seen the front pockets now, on what looks to be a champion AB Elfelt back pocket…No dart stitch on the front pockets, this does appear to be a later version of the Champion pants- I’ve only seen duck or denim pocket bags on Champion and Levi pants made before the factory- this pant has denim pocket bags- so it would appear that they went back to the free floating back pocket, when they changed to the more common cinch strap- that’s seen on most dart stitch pants, including their own dart stitch pant (pioneer overalls) made by Elfelt. Cool pair, so much like the pants Hodis made, only these have a different cinch strap, plus a free floating pocket.

Really great find, never I a have seen a white tab version of that jacket. I have e similar jacket but with a little e orange tab, same pocket flap shape and neppy denim.

I pretty sure that your jacket is an early european made specimen and must be mid 1960s.

Posted (edited)

here is a fine example of a similar jacket, unfortunately not my size

all these jackets share a slightly elongated tab, those unfamiliar bronze coloured button backs and the beautiful neppy denim,

that is imo superior to the standard cone denim of the era. wonder of what origin this might be!?

x-post from d-bros in case any ideas on this end of the line...

anyone recognise this pocket?

a museological question passed on to me to ask for learned friends like yourselves...

this piece was added to the a Scottish museum's collection in 1902
clearly present is a L.S. & co. rivet... [it is a pocket that seems to have been filled with sand, part of a Blackfoot horse cropper]
the thought is that is a fragment of a garment from earlier than the accession date...
... anyone have ideas on dates it might have come from, or model?

Looks like a back pocket (shape) from a pair of Spring bottom pants in deadgrass colour (?)

I'm amazed there are even any deadstock examples at all of those jeans left, especially in a desirable size like 31x34. I'd think that Japanese enthusiasts had bought and worn them all by now.
