Don’t have a tape measure at the moment, I’ll try to get back to you once I can.

Yeah I think they probably be the same on me debating on getting the 2000t in a size 42 as the waist seems to be the problem as that what seems to over shrink has anyone else tried this ?

Sound crazy buying a w42

What size are u on other brands?

I’m around W35-36.  I bought my 2000T No.1 at their Ueno store.  I tried the W38 O/W,  but the waist seemed a bit tight, so I went for W40L32 in RAW.  Initially, I just double hot soaked, but they seemed way to loose, so I got them hot washed & machine dried ... which I don’t usually do.

Fast forward 2 washes later,  the denim shrunk like a mofo ... the waist has stabilized at 36”, which fit me much better now. I’m so glad I didn’t go for the W38.

@lee porter yeah, u can do the hot wash & just hangdry.  It’s just that when I acquired the W40 I was still a solid W34 on  japs & I was a bit anxious, like u are now, that I may have overestimated the size-up, so I semi-panicked & opted on the nuclear option.

I usually just double hot soak from raw ... not even wash ... but I wanna find out right from the start if it’ll work out or not cuz I don’t wanna waist leg-time on something that’ll not work down the line.

Though the No.1 shrinks like mofo, u just can’t do it one shot ... believe me I tried :P.  It’ll take a couple of washes for the denim to settle & stabilize.  So, initially,  don’t bother ... just wear them loose, better fit will come in time.

I’ll do a fit evo when I get a chance.  Caveat, I don’t have the proportions, like @beautiful_FrEaK ;),  who gets [spot on] fits on the getgo.   In fact, I do a lousy [initial] fit photo ... all the time :laugh2:

Current measurements: W40L32

w= 18” , f/r= 11.5” , b/r= 15.5” , u/t= 13.5” , knee= 9” , leg opening= 7.5” , inseam= 31.5”

Initially, double hot-soaked X hang-dried for [this] fit.   They’ve been cold-washed X machine-dried since, to get a bit more shrinkage.

Edit** Postwash measurements [BIG-style] Tagged W40x32
w=36in; flat= 18” (46cm) :: Inseam= 32 (81) :: f/r= 11.25 (29) :: b/r= 15.5 (39) :: u/t= 13.75 (35) :: knee= 9 (23) :: hem= 7.5 (19)

The top block fits much better after 3 washes, IMO.  If I knew [that],  I would’ve refrained from washing,  kept wearing them loose [as shown above] & kept them darker, longer.

@lee porter I believe you ordered the 42 2000t already, but I have a pair of the 2000t No.1 denim in size 42 and the measurements are as follows. I believe they were one washed when purchased. I have probably worn them less than 20 times. My spouse got them for me on a trip to Japan a couple of years ago. I wish she had not gotten the tapered fit, but it was a great gift regardless. They are really only worn when I need a pair of unfaded jeans since I have too many, well, assuming the loud red embroidered gulls are still cool wherever I am going.

original (cm) / cold soak / current

waist 96.5 / 94 / 97

front rise 28 / 28 / 28.5

thigh 35.5 / 34 / 34

inseam 80 / 80 / 80

leg 19.5 / 19 / 19

Pictures, since I busted them out to measure. Model is "Lot.2000T (No.1 / MOMOME Embroidery / Red) Slim Tapered Fit"

2005 no 2. ... Kinda roomy in the thigh but an aggressive taper at the bottom... The denim itself was very nice! Amazingly soft after a year of wear.

dug out my old pair of the evisu international's 0005 in no.2 denim [another highly tapered cut with nice big top block]:

very soft indeed...

I've actually just listed some 2000Ts on ebay, same username. Tagged 40 x 32 but actual 34 x 31. If anyone is interested then drop me a message on here!

Wait!? The no 1s shrank 6 inches!?

Any word on the 18oz peteros those are the ones I just ordered and am waiting to arrive.

I don’t think its that the no1 denim shrank 6 inches rather it was never a size 42 to begin with. Evisu’s measurements are all over the place. I had a tag size 38 in no.1 denim and it only shrunk 2 inches even after i put them through the dryer multiple times.

Too small for me sadly I do like the looks of the red selvage no1 though!seems like the reds shrinks  more or do the reds come up smaller than the tiger no1 ?and how’s the no2 denim compare to the no1 crash?

No.1 denim has the nicer hand to it, I love its hairiness when soaked and washed. But, pretty much every single vintage pair I've seen with the best fades have been made of No.2 denim. No idea why and it might just be one massive coincidence.

They'd already been soaked by the time I picked them up so I went by the shrunk measurements so no surprises there for me, ha. I'm just more about the loose fits these days and the 2000t cut isn't the one for me. Or my arse lmao.

What cuts you going for crash test I want a loose cut I feel comfortable in

I'm not wearing much denim these days to be honest as I'm more comfortable in other fabrics. Especially when working from home for almost a year now thanks to the pandemic. I'll always have a couple of decent pairs of Evis or Evisu though, of course!

But from the current models, 2001 and 2004 will be as good as it gets. Some of the vintage Evis cuts are looser than the old 2501/2001 cut though. Both of the Evis Cowboy Lee reproduction models, Lot 2101 and Lot2111, are very loose fits.

But you'll never get a proper loose fit with any denim that weighs around 10oz and upwards, even with repeated washing. You'll get a baggy fit but not a loose fit which to me implies mobility of the fabric when moving around.
