new deerhunter is hit or miss. microcastle and cryptograms were far more consistent albums, though i do enjoy the more straightforward approach to some of the newer songs, like 'dont cry' for example

The Ben Allen production definitely helped Deerhunter on the new album. I know they were trying to be really washy and reverby before but it really wasn't working for me.
