The engineer boots were in a sz2 made out of calf leather in dark brown going for $1,280AUD last one left. Yeah it was friggin random I remember that store used to sell Bape and other clothing that fobs love. SA was really nice and knew his shit (eg. Darklands, Atlier, EM, etc) and is willing to sell at reasonable prices. The Augusta boots were made of horse leather in a sz9 and they were about 2K. Store is at the end of Dixon street so gotta go across the road from where all the Chinese restaurants are.

.

They only had the mid engineer boots 50 - pretty sure its this one:

They def look darker in colour and made from stiffer leather compared to the ones ive handled @ yulius flagship store.

They were going for $2kAUD I'm pretty sure. But like I said, you can ask for a better price with these guys. Just tell them you know how much it retails for in Japan haha.

I told the SA that i'd be spreading the word to sufu and told him to prepare coz he'll get shitloads of new customers soon lulz.

Not many blogs that I'd wholeheartedly recommend, but you might get some mileage out of these - if you're not already reading them...

http://www.ablogcuratedby.com/welcome/ (the non-baller version of the epic magazine)

http://coutequecoute.blogspot.com/ (not always good, but always big images and frequent updates)

http://www.purple-diary.com/ (zham's hustle)

http://www.theselby.com/ (really fresh content behind each entry)

http://www.we-make-money-not-art.com/ (assorted dope shit)

http://www.dazeddigital.com/ (bit of everything, can be quality, but the stingy feed gets me down [hate when sites just run a header and a teaser of the text, don't make me visit the site just to decide if I'm interested])

Also - something i personally find very difficult.

Sunglasses. I know its been talked about so much.. but dam its so hard to find anything i like.

Whats the go for you all?

dont want no con/ksubi blehcrap

Lanvin, YSL. They're all from luxxotica and that other brand anyway, everyone subcontracts sunglasses. The Véronique Branquinho partnership w. ?? (can't remember) was pretty good too.

I think a lot of people liked the Geller ones. I personally don't want to look like I'm a time traveling gypsy so I don't go for crazy sunglasses like Margiela. Oh and never buy online, try this shit.

hey guys.. new member from brissy here.

anywayz, i too am also sick of ksubi, gucci, rayban and the like.

recently i've been wearing super (retrofuture) sunglasses. they're quite wayfarer-like and minimalistic in design - of course, crazy, wacko designs also available. they're also handmade in italy with carl zeiss lenses.

I've been wearing these dior homos for a few years.

dior-homme-shades.jpg

they are starting to get really loose/scratched/etc so I am in the market for new sunglasses myself. Still like these though because they so plain so might try to find another pair.

Also wouldnt mind getting a pair with round lenses. tried an amazing CdG pair on @ Kyoto Isetan that i regret buying soooo bad.

bt, I have massive problems with sunglasses too. I recently discovered Blinde Design Project (the designer behind the sunglasses in The Matrix) who have a massive selection of great designs.

Some decent blogs below as follows:

History of Our World

You Might Find Yourself

We Are The Market

'>The Impossible Cool

'>Kempt

'>Contributing Editor

'>It's Nice That

Hope I didn't repeat any, I'll try post a few more when I remember them/get time.

bt, Nice photos on facehunter btw.

Ill look into what lanvin has going. I dont really want anything like the geller ones.. they all remind me of wayfarers. And id like to avoid that look.

But i have no idea what design i want :\

I follow some of those.

Ill check that brand up and let you know what i think.

Will also check the blogs out.

aha the photos on facehunter are a bit odd but Yvan wanted to use them so all good i guess :\ not really facehunter style.

Late-ish pass, but I really like MN's YSL glasses here:

IMG_4087.jpg

The whole outfit is fantastic.

MN is a good dude, but the glasses are still not what im looking for..

I dont think ill ever find something i want in eyewear.

Cause im 6'4 its hard for glasses to actually fit me aswell. Normally looks pretty awkward. So something bigger is usually what works.

Time to hunt.

sunglasses are the worst fucking thing ever.. fuck sunglasses..

I nearly copped l' incognitos.. they are fire! but can only be worn on occasion..

I know they are so difficult - have searched YSL an d Lanvin but all i can find is horrible metro glasses. ( The kind AFL Players would wear ) Do. Not. Want.

Any sites that actually stock good Lanvin/YSL glasses?

no deal on the incognitos they would be so hard to pull off.

cutler and gross is a classic but I have never managed to find anything that I like.. as for colab I had a pair about 5 years ago? It was a more surf orientated brand back then I think. The glasses were good but not my thing nowadays.. Linda Farrow collabs are generally too much (especially Bernhard Willhelm lol), unless you want aviator style ones. I haven't seen much of hers that hasn't been collab, can you point me in the right direction of any nice ones?

Homme I have liked some of the dior sunglasses but they are to hard to find usually due to all the crap that doir releases to the gp :| and then the fakes that flood places like ebay:(

The problem is every single thing i look at can be put into one of three categories.

Typical Wayfarer style

Gross over the top "fashion" forward (Metro style glasses)

or

just not practical for every day use ( think MMM )

I want something that will go with my style but not be boring either. Something that will fit me well ( Would have to be quite large )

This game is hard.

jcot, all the proper 'Dior Homme' sunglasses were released under the title 'Black Tie', so if you include that in your search, you'll skip the worst of it. KVA's glasses the last few years haven't been particularly fresh though.

Linda Farrow, the 70s women's wear designer, is dead - so the bulk of the glasses under the label are about reviving her archive, and men's eyewear wasn't a big part of that. The colabs represent the bulk of it really.

Cutler and Gross are really badly represented. No catalogue of the range or distribution online, so what filters through is a narrow selection, but occasionally there is some remarkable pieces.
