This thread is the reason I registered on sufu so I thought I would contribute. My jeans have been busy the last couple weeks so I thought I would share.

I traveled up to Portland, Oregon to visit my family and introduce them to my wife. Made a couple stops:

Ate at Old Wives Tales (Vegetarian fare, normally not my style but this was wonderful):

IMG_2339.jpg

^^^^ Cool little vintage store.

IMG_2340.jpg

IMG_2342.jpg

^^^^ Voodoo Doughnuts is a popular place. Line took about 30 minutes.

IMG_2350.jpg

IMG_2351.jpg

IMG_2352.jpg

^^^^^ It was worth the wait. That maple bacon bar might be the tastiest thing I have ever eaten....

Had a business trip to Pittsburgh so I stopped by Primanti Bros:

IMG_2373-1.jpg

^^^^ Major heartburn....

And just recently went to Indianapolis for a conference. Here is the NCAA headquarters (my employer):

Then we went to a local place called Jersey's Cafe and indulged:

And then when I got back to SLC I started decorating my office for Christmas:

(can't beat a fake fireplace and a moose head....)

All done in my APC's:

Haha I decided last minute to abandon the bacon...wasn't sure how the grease would mingle with the other flavors (and trying to be a little bit healthy). I am kind of regretting the decision.

Actually they aren't mine lol. I do wish they were though! I however have a pair of Westone 3's, they're similar but not custom molded to my ears like those are.

So I spent 3 days working on 3 cables. 24AWG Nucleotide UP-OCC Copper terminated with Livewire MCX connectors and Oyaide Gold-plated 3.5mm right angled plug.

Omg, I need those livewire cable for my customs. Mine are dying.

Sitting in the Shama Hong Kong for the holidays...Right now I'm in Shenzhen with the rest of our team here in China doing some work in what is turning out to be paradise this time of year...taking a bit of a holiday for the rest of the weekend.

A bit of Shenzhen...The brand new KK 100 building where the St. Regis is at.

We laid out until the sun began to set, then we headed up towards OCT to grab some great food. no pics, wanted to escape the world for a bit so the phone was turned off and the camera stayed in the bag. I had a rack of Lamb and she had a really nice take on goulash. paired with a nice bottle of grenache.

Next day...Macau!

I hadn't been to Macau yet, and everyone was saying that it is a must down here. So a co-worker of mine and I spent 9 hours there the other day soaking it all in, let me tell you I'm in love. going to go back on Tuesday I think...

Coming into the harbor on a ferry from Shekou, Shenzhen

6557850095_1b6810a579_z.jpg

We walked all the way from the ferry terminal into the city, which is an easy and as far as I'm concerned, a great way to get your bearings and enter the city...we traveled through some of the older parts of the city, being renovated currently. I do enjoy their current state however.

6557850699_894e7c8ef2_z.jpg

I'm still fascinated with mass - housing projects, and how they are all so similar, yet are all very different and distinguished in every part of China. Even between Hong Kong and Macau...

6557851291_62bbd841b3_z.jpg

The entrances to this entire neighborhood interested me in particular, massive outdoor staircases behind large metal gates...very eerie way to come home.

6557851949_21cb48800a_z.jpg

As you head up into the city proper, Macau leaves behind the westernized oceanside run of Casinos upon Casinos...and you begin to rise up into the more european feeling portion of the city. Concrete gives way to cobbled streets and sidewalks, and everything begins to look like a strange mash up of iberian and chinese architecture.

6557853607_fca7a50f9a_z.jpg

seeing feliz navidad and hearing and seeing everything written in portuguese was refreshing and new, a strange contrast when you look towards the horizon and view the stacks of twenty to thirty story apartments stretching to the hills beyond the city.

i found nothing lacking in Macau...everything was a perfect balance of what i love about chinese culture, and what i love about western culture. the place is vibrant and, a bit decadent. definitely unique. we met an older us businessman who had been in china for 15 years, 5 of which had been spent in macau. he gave us a great small tour of his favorite places in a certain neighborhood. where you can get a blow job, where you can get great Portuguese food, great chinese food, where you can get a jug of wine to drink in the park, where you should go to see the city from up high...it is a place of many different people, but it is a bright and wonderful combination of them all. i never set foot in a casino in macau. if you ever go i urge you to do the same. if i had more than 9 hours there i may have, but i never dreamed of it this time. wandering from point a to point b through point z, y, and x was more adventure than any roulette table.

more snapshots from the trip...

our third and final bottle of wine for the day...they ran out of cups at the store, so he gave us bowls. we enjoyed it on the steps of the Macau art museum in front of the fountains and watched as the city stopped. the cars and people slowly stopped riding by, and as they went off home so did we...back to the mainland.
