Yes, the washed versions of the JP LVC37 were sanforized. Not sure about dry versions.

The reason to sanfor the jeans is that you control the shrinkage when applying vintage-style washing in an industrial laundry. So you can sidestep any problems with the whiskers moving around etc, yet keep the leg twist.

Ah, that's very good information - thanks!

Do yo know who produces the fabric for the 37?

Kiya, I believe, suggested that Sanforized fabric can fade differently from UnSanforized. What's your take?

I believe it's the mighty Kaihara Corporation that makes the OPS denim for the JP 37.

Regarding fading of sanforized versus unsanforized, yes there are subtle differences. The sanforized denim produces a flatter more even fade to the surface, whereas unsanforized denim fades with more of a salt & pepper effect. This is due to the shrinkage, which causes micro bumps on the surface of the denim that create an peppered effect when subjected to abrasion.

Kiya is right :)
