KANYE WEST believes he may the victim of fashion plagiarism and that Hedi Slimane is the main culprit. The rapper - who is rumoured to be reviving his fashion label - insists that the Saint Laurent creative director is one step behind him.

"So when I see Hedi Slimane, and it's like, 'OK, this is my take on the world,' yeah, he's got some nice $5,000 jeans in there, it's some nice ones here and there, some good shit here and there, but we are culture," he told BBC Radio 1. "Rap is the new rock and roll. We are culture. Rap is the new rock and roll. We are the rock stars. It's been like that for a minute, Hedi Slimane. It's been like that for a minute. We the biggest rock stars, and I'm the biggest of all of them."

As modest as ever (the musician previously described himself as the " number-one living and breathing rock star"), West says that he originally conceived leather trousers - an item previously seen on the catwalks of Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant, Balmain and Alexander Wang.

"Whether I'm at a dinner with Anna Wintour, or a listening party with Pusha-T or in Rome with Virgil [Abloh, West's creative director], giving Fendi our designs and getting them knocked down… [We] brought the leather jogging pants six years ago to Fendi, and they said no," he said. "How many motherfuckers you done seen with a leather jogging pant?"

And in case you dismiss this latest polemic from West as just another rant, the rapper says his musings deserve more gravitas.

"They classify my motivational speeches as rants," he said. "I have reached the point where my Truman Show boat has crashed into the painting."

My margiela converse came through today and they look awesome, im just wondering how anyone on here plans on keeping them looking fresh,

with the paint the way it is an all....

I know that over time the paint will flake off, but i dont want it to get to a point where im left with just a pair of red converse, so is there anything i can spray on them to limit or slow down the flaking off process??

Lots of people are bored of it (to a certain point) and the shows (and some writes) of showing signs of it.

And it seems (to me, at least) that only a small part of the industry is seeing what's wrong.

We will learn about it quite soon... i guess the release date will be around February.

Price point is $500-ish if I remember correctly. After talking with a friend at Owenscorp it appears it is a parnership but the materials are all Rick and not some regular adidas crap (think MMMXConverse). The project basically started before the partnership was conceived.
