Replacement pair of Voronois arrived at my door this afternoon from Arc'teryx.  Thanks to those that recommended I contact them directly regarding their warranty. It's great to see a company stand behind their product the way they do.  Noticeable differences between last years and this years model - shorter inseam and all-together a pinch smaller compared to last year's.

Also received the Liminals I ordered during thecorner private sale.  Sharp looking pant with a mean carrot taper.  I can imagine those with larger calves barely able to fit these.  To my disappointment, while admiring the construction, I noticed the crotch was already damaged upon arrival- the same reason I had returned my Voronios for repair.  On the phone with Arc'teryx I was told the crotch ripping is actually a common problem with the Voronois. However, I have no idea why QC didn't catch the rip on the pair of Liminals.  Odd coincidence.  Perhaps a word of caution to avoid any large steps to those wearing either model.

Somehow missed this informative post until now. Strange that crotches on gusseted pants are getting blown out - the intention of the gusset is to counteract exactly that. FWIW, I wear both biking, and swing my leg high over the frame to mount and dismount. Feels fine. Were you wearing them low on the waist? I was planning to retire my Voronois to be my scrambling/climbing pants after a couple seasons of urban wear, or if they suffer an unfortunate stain.

@Loos Threads   Yes, I've a lower waist so that's where they like to fit.  Also, they ran fairly baggy on me and I'd never experienced any restriction of movement.   If any factor lead to the rip it may have likely been sitting cross legged / indian style (or the fidgeting in and out of) at the computer chair.

Right, I suppose my waist is high, or at least I like to belt these pants high and that's where their fit seems to function best for me. I think the articulation is meant to follow the body as close as possible. I do find Veilance really fits my body to a T. Nice OPN avatar, by the way.

In terms of packability:

Shell >>> Insulated

Less pockets >>> more pockets

I would say the Actuator is the most packable, ultralight shell, followed by the Align. I like to hold onto nice rubber bands when I come across them, and then I roll up the jacket and secure it with that. No creases and easily deployed. Place under neck when sleeping in the woods ;)

Thinking of purchasing the Haedn Blazer.  Would be very interested to hear some impressions from anyone who can comment on it. Thanks!

Face wool fabric was rougher than I had expected, in feel, but it's nice and the cotton backer makes it comfortable (except when one closes the collar, but it's not bad even then).

Nicely cut; but this is the first piece where I'm *very* happy I did get the size M (whereas other pieces I have are also M but a tad too big, the Haedn in M fits me exactly, so be careful about sizing. Mine's from the first season they offered the Haedn, by the way. I don't think they changed the cut, but who knows...)

The comment much further above about pants with trim cut in the legs (Voronoi): So happy to see someone who noted that. I'm one of those people who can't fit in there quite right...

Just got an Insulated Field Jacket from Black Friday sales (Mr. Porter) and I think its going to go back.  While there are a lot of neat aspects to the design that people focus on, the cut is pretty goofy.  For a jacket that should be cut to allow at least some layering, its very narrow towards the top, while billowing out as you approach the hem.  There is shoulder articulation but it doesn't matter much because the arm holes are so high and tight as to prevent moderate layering. This all combines to create a bit of a "Christmas tree"silhouette.  Its almost as if it was patterned for someone with no lats or chest but a significant gut.  Worse still, wearing  just a dress shirt my arm pits chafed enough from the high arm-holes that I had red marks when I got home.   I hope it stretches a bit but I doubt it.  So much for ergonomic design and range of motion.

For the record, I'm 5'7 155 so I'm not a twig but I'm pretty close to normal build.

Been saying this about the FJ cut for a while now, just never in detail. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

Thanks for the reply, akuma! The insulation and design is what's pulling me to the jacket. It The coreloft will probably be a lifesaver in my climate. I have yet to try it on but I'm no stranger to Arc'teryx so I reckon the fit itself will be fine.

The cut is really the deciding factor... Along with the huge internal conflict I've been recently having concerning the direction I want to take with my clothing.

Any opinions on the Node IS? Picking the Lyra Grey one up today from my local retailer at 40% off. I've noticed that they're not too popular within this community, any reason why?

Because most people look like this when wearing it:
