One of the cornerstone’s of fashion design, Jil Sander’s minimalistic industrial aesthetic is set for a pairing with Japanese brand Uniqlo. Continuing with a trend of pairing both high-end designers in a more affordable and commercial range, the two and their simplicity seem like good matches for one another. Stay tuned for looks into this exciting new capsule on the horizon.

If it was just a capsule, I would be more excited. But I don't see Jil being great at overseeing all of uniqlo (I mean, her hand wouldn't be in about 99% of things, I'm guessing, but still...)

Looking forward to the special Jil line, though (or whatever it's called).

she's taking on a design consultancy for men's and women's lines.

it's not about having her design every single piece that uniqlo puts out,

it is about having her input shape, direct, and tighten what uniqlo does

from here on out, in terms of their product. this somehow detracts from your excitement over the capsule collection?

some people are bitching but how can this be anything but a good thing?

Don't call me out, ho. I wasn't bitching but just being devil's advocate. Obviously, it can't really be a bad thing. I do think it's more fun to watch brands with more outgoing styles cheap it up with uniqlo rather than minimalist with cheap materials. Still should be cool though.

No, just as excited about the actual capsule.

Just not holding my breath for the whole "design consultancy" part.

If she does good stuff, then that's great. I'm just not holding my breath.

>> Jil Sander's Collection for Uniqlo Officially Has a Name —We've known since March that Jil Sander is re-entering the fashion world after five years by overseeing men's and women's wear at Uniqlo, but details further than that have been sparse. No word on how long her contract is or when the first of her labors will appear in stores, but the collection does finally have a name, +J, and a logo, at left. [WWD]

i like the logo. i need some cheap good fitting basics and those look like the jil shirts out now without the 295 price tag. don't know why they won't shell out for buttons, shit doesn't even cost that much

as far as i could tell, this is not part of their ongoing designer invitation project.

They'll make jawns every season starting with the upcoming f/w season.

100 different pieces for wmn

40 different pieces for men

Online stores and uniqlo retail stores in MAJOR cities
