Contemplating on buying a pair of 800s. I've only had experience with Strike Gold jeans so any tips for a Warehouse newbie? Like stretch, general sizing etc.

And for all you 800 owners, hows the taper?

Warehouse stretch pretty easily at the waist, so you want to go TTS or size up 1" at most. With the #800, you have to pay more attention to the thighs than the waist. I wear a size 38 in 1001XX and #700, but a 38 would be a little bigger than I'd want in the #800. Looking at the thigh measurement, I don't know that I could drop down to a 36 though. BiG refers to the #800 as tapered, but to me it's pretty straight. The #700 actually is a little more tapered between the knee and leg opening.

^amazing as usual...

another look at the new 1001's, up on blue gear:

Might be the lighting, but to me that new 1001XX looks darker than the denim used in the anniversary 1001XX, and even the 1000XX used in the 660/700/800. That's a good thing, IMO Warehouse starts out a little too light blue for a repro of pre-70 Levis.

wanting the 1001xx bad...1000xx seems slimmer than the 1001?

tough to compare. According to the measurements at big the 1000XX start pretty close to the old 1001XX. It's all going to depend on how they shrink. My 1001XX 15th anniv started out with larger measurements everywhere other than the waist when compared to my 700 in the same tagged size, but once shrunk, the 1001XX is a little smaller.

Received the new 1001XX in the mail yesterday. The denim is amazing. Setterman is right. The new 1001xx is darker and much bluer than the 15th version which is somewhat grey casted. The back pocket stitching is yellow instead of the usual orange color.

Looks like you spend more time on your ass than I do... ha

Nice jeans though for sure!

my "bandana" is actually my patch that i've been to lazy to sew on there. my bike seat is a real killer, and those jeans see a hell on a lot of action on there.

are they that good that you needed two pairs?

This is what happens when I don't listen to reason and give in to my impulse. Wanted a pair with the arc.

snake

you should alternate the two pairs every other day so that we can get a true comparison!

I am rotating between warren and ooe 2101xx right now. I'll start the 1001 soon.

i'm perplexed by your comparison of the 800s and the 700s -- you think the 800s fit looser? I've found the opposite to be true on my legs

Compare the size 38 700 and 800 one washed versions as measured on big's website. The 700 is smaller everywhere above the knee. To get the measurements I'd want (waist wise) i'd have to look at the size 36 in #800, then it's starting to get too small in the thighs.

I don't understand why Warehouse made the Blue-gray line. Whats the point? Why make a product that isn't as great as Warehouse? Is Blue-Gray a budget line? The denim doesn't look as nice thats for sure. They are not repros. I am a little confused. I do love Warehouse jeans, and the Blue-Gray looks okay, but I want more insight into the brand. I'm not sold yet.
