501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted April 26 It's hard to tell from the photo's but I don't think it's the normal 14.5oz that comes on the Lot 800. It looks like a early attempt at the Banner denim maybe??? I would guess, and I stress guess, that they are around 13.5oz, if you gave them a hot wash they look like they might get quite hairy.
Bobbo 6,651 Posted April 26 They did have other fabrics before the banner denim came along. If you go back in the thread there's been a lot of discussion over the years when they changed the fabrics.
JRendon02 27 Posted April 26 I'm slowly making my way through the thread. Currently on page 53. Silly work is getting in my way.

501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted May 3 The news I didn't want to get regarding my 1001xx... 05/02/2019 16:00 Item presented to import Customs I thought I might avoid it with all the May Day bullshit but it looks like I'm going to get hit.
501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted May 9 For those that are vaguely interested, the Lot 1001xx arrived this morning(with a Customs charge), first surprise, they have the regular colour selvedge!!!, second surprise, they have the 25th Anniversary stamps on the hidden rivets!!! More observations on the way...
Maynard Friedman 565,200 Posted May 9 Perhaps you got a prototype 25th anniversary pair... ... or some Thai fakes! Keep us informed.
501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted May 9 Further observations are that they have one of the things I love most about vintage/retro cuts which is the reverse stitching thing, IE if it displays yellow on the outside it's orange on the inside and vice versa, I'd say it's a pain to do and a fairly pointless extravagance, but I love it. It's even on the inside of the Belt loops, not a great photo but, yellow outside, orange inside... I was asking @Broark about this on his recent pair, the inside of the pocket bags also have a finished seam, again pointless but lovely... The other observation is that there is so much starch in these that I think it's actually dulling the colour of the thread at the moment, they will need a good bit of water/washing to get rid of it. Not sure what the story is with the denim, it's definitely not the banner denim but it's a lot more "vertical" then the standard 14.5, it reminds me a bit of how @Bobbo tour pair ended up looking, lots of vertical streaky fades, here's a pic of a slub, from inside and out... All in all, very happy with these, my guess is they are a Festival pair made during the 25th Anniversary year with some of the same details they put on the export models that they did around the same time.
Maynard Friedman 565,200 Posted May 9 They look great @501XX4EVER, I like the texture on that denim. I thought the 25th anniversary was next year though, I’m sure I bought my 15th anniversary pair in 2010.

You're probably right there, what was the last anniversary then, 20th???, I have three pairs of the export model, 700, 800 and 1000 and they all have the number "25" stamped on the hidden rivets. Don't tell me this is another fuckin' mystery.
Bobbo 6,651 Posted May 10 Very nice jeans mate. The fabric do look similar to my old world tour jeans. You're in for a treat then!

Yes, I was looking at the pictures on your reactivated Blog, I can't seem to find the topic/thread for the tour you sent the jeans on though, it had some great pictures.
501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted May 10 And just to prove that I'm not going completely mad, here's some pictures of the "25" stamped on the back of the hidden rivets, answers on a postcard please... And some more very nice orange/yellow yellow/orange switch stitching... The superfluous extra arcs will be de-stitched tonight.
Broark 8,535 Posted May 10 Very nice, that denim is definitely something different from Warehouse.

Seriously though, when I look at them they do look almost like black denim, a lot of that is probably down to the starch but they, along with all the "Festival" type Warehouse models, do seem to have a certain mojo that the regular models don't have.

Maynard Friedman 565,200 Posted May 11 I think it’s more of a cross-hatch texture/grain than a streaky one, like something you’d see from Strike Gold. I like it!
Bobbo 6,651 Posted May 11 Need to get my pair out for a spin today. Thanks for the reminder!

Mine are currently in the wash, I did my usual routine, soak inside out in some hot water and Woolite Dark, hang them on the line to get any creases out, then into the washing machine at 30 degrees at a low spin with some more Woolite. Just looking at them hanging on the line before the washing machine I could tell they have already shrunk a good bit.
Broark 8,535 Posted May 11 Talk about temptations, here's a pair of 1001XX's from 1999 on Yahoo Auctions in great condition. A bit rich for my blood right now given the ¥25,900 asking price and I'm trying to do a self-imposed buying freeze until August.
cusswords 1,122 Posted May 11 The Warehouse summer catalog has been updated with some new fits (looks like more banner denim) and some nice shirts. Those hi-top speakers are also looking really nice https://info.ware-house.co.jp/product/season/wh2019su/

They look amazing, not sure about the stain on the pocket bag though, he should knock a few yen off the price for that. However if you look at the way the coin pocket stitching is, you'll see one of the things I was blathering on about in the Levi's thread and one of the reasons I love Warehouse, amazing details that no one really sees. From a pair of real vintage S501xx, the stitching is almost the exact same...
501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted May 12 And here are what the "mystery" Lot 1001xx look like after their de-extra-arcing and soak/wash... The "slub" post wash... The denim... Reverse stitching on the coin pocket, orange on the front, yellow on the back... I'm starting to think that these might be the 13.5 Duck Digger denim that they sometimes use. Warehouse describe the Lot 1001 as their flagship model and I don't think they have made it with the heavier 14.5. These definitely feel lighter than 14.5, they're almost like my Full Count 0105.
501XX4EVER 2,214 Posted May 12 And for absolutely no reason at all, here's some pictures of the patch on my oldest pair of Warehouse, my Lot 800...

d-rew12 17,904 Posted May 13 Finally got around to washing them before my Japan trip. Sadly they're in worse shape than I was expecting so when I get back, I'll wash again and take to SE for repairs. I think this is the 9th wash and maybe around 2ish years? I lost count sadly Pre-wash Post-wash
