How many of you guys are going to use your Chinese New Years money to kop jeans?

food?

shoes?

porn?

toys?

more jeans?

more porn?

Haha, tell me your plans SuFu users.

P.S. Sorry to people who are not of Chinese or Taiwanese decent.

A short explanation. Basically Chinese New Years is the celebration of the Lunar New Year which is what most asian cultures celebrate as opposed to the New Year[Jan 1st]. There's a lot of folklore behind it and all but basically you give and receive money for good fortune in the new year. Just a quick explanation for those who might now know.

Yeah it's customary but I don't know anyone who gets more than a couple bucks thrown their way. Back when I was a kid I got coins in those things. Depends on the family I guess.

My old gf though gets enough money from otoshidama (which is like the Japanese equivalent of the red envelope) to cover for a trip back to Japan and buy clothes and shit, so I don't know if there's any rules on the amounts.

That is both funny and sad. :/

Some of my friends get so much money from their relatives, like literally hundreds and shit.

I get some money from relatives but not a lot just like 20 or so. My immediately family gives me a little more but I usually just save my Chinese New Years money.

...and then the SuFuxDBxSE collab happened.

if you are using your CNY money to cop SHOES, then check yourself blood. You need to enroll in Wu-Tang Summer School for some Chinese history/sociology lessons before you go about doing something dumb like that.

hahahahaha

i agree

the most i ever got from CNY was about 500-700 my favorites is to burn firecrackers at the middle of the nite to scare all the white folk though

wait

did you really understand what i was saying in that post? You speak Chinese, right...at least Cantonese

If the Chinese got one thing going for them it's paranoia and superstition. The only thing holding us back from getting on the level of the Jews is our inability to unite. Understandable when you got almost 2 billion deep.

no new shoes, cant wash hair on new years day, no sweeping, no talk about death.... alot of fucking superstitions........

Wenzhou people got the uniting shit down... fookies kinda also... Guangdong people dont know what the fuck 齊心 means... they wudnt give a rat's ass about anyone or anything else... unless its gonna affect themselves some how

Its funny since the Taiwanese are more "mainland" than Hong Kong and Singapore folks especially when they be speaking the Fukinese 24-7.

taiwanese = fookies... finally someone else believes thats true

HK people who at this point still want to disassociate themselves from the "Chinese" identity, tied to the mainland, is some outdated ass pre-1997 shit. Get with the program, there's a helluva lot more shit goin on up there than there is down here. If it weren't for the complex free for all semi-anarchy that reigns, I would not mind living up there as opposed to HK.
