Sprogs, nippers, bambinos: pint-sized denim

you're probably gonna have a hard time finding much selvage on toddler/baby jeans by Levis and Lee. You might search etsy with keywords like indigo/denim/...

occasionally the random stuff turns up when I am researching pricing/et cetera. They don't still offer the 'alchemy' feature, but you might be able to find makers who take custom orders and could jimmy rig something up with all the bells and whistles. My wife had decent luck having skirts made there.

I laid these up for the nipper - by the time I pulled them out the closet, he'd outgrown them. Marked for an 11 yr old, they're very slim, 24 waist, more suited for an 8 yr old. So I'd like some indulgent sufu'er to pick em up for a fiver. Click on my sig.

We went to Dr. K's Vintage shop in DC yesterday, and spotted a tiny pair of unworn Levis behind a glass countertop. We asked to see them, and they were this adorable pair of 18" waist jeans for kids. They had a zipper and selvage, and the leather patch was almost worn out of recognition (could still see the 18", though). We inquired on the cost, and after a quick phone call discovered they were kid's jeans from the 1940s, and were on sale for $500! Which I might have actually considered if my kid wasn't so darn chubby, and probably would never be able to fit in them...

bluegoldblues - are those selvage?

I have two pairs, one from, I believe the early 70's, and the other from probably around the 80's or so?

Neither are selvage, but both are pretty nice pairs. the early 70's pair denim is really quality.

got them dirt cheap on the bay. I don't think the guy realized what he had.
