Sprogs, nippers, bambinos: pint-sized denim

Someone from this board - @CrashTestBrummie ? - sourced these early Yamane Evisu for my nipper. They were a bit big for him, so they went in the denim box and by the time I remembered them he was too big for them .

So I'd like to pass them on to someone from this board for the purchase price, let's say £15 donation to youngminds plus postage. Make me an offer if that's too much ££££. 25 waist, 30 leg. My guess is they've been soaked once and that's pretty much it. Classic early hairy evis denim. I don't check my PMs that often so feel free to email me.

Update: Jeans headed for B_F Jr. Thanks for the donation !  We expect an update on this thread within the next 10 years please.

These nippers jeans have been really worn down by my oldest....worn since mid 2022. his waist hasn't changed much so he can still wear these but they might need to be relegated to just once in a while wear. he's burning through pants quick.

i have a five month year old daughter and never really even considered this. wouldn't a toddler etc find jeans to be super uncomfortable? i'm definitely not planning on getting her anything denim (nor expensive while she's growing so quickly), although her mum might be keen on some (pink) overalls...

Yep

My kid has never been into denim.. we used to wrestle him into them from time to time.. we let him choose his own path.. which is usually the path of comfort.. i never wanted to dress like my middle aged dad when i was younger so i'm sure as hell he doesn't either.

Same here. My boy had the opportunity to wear 2 pairs of late 60's wrangler 13MWZ when he was 11/12 but chose the comfort of joggers instead. To be fair though he did wear the old type 3 l bought him (age 10) and the vest version (age 13) which was a gift from Flash.

But now he's turned 16 and is at the local FE college studying music production and everyone and their wives there are into vintage lol. So at last he has seen the light. Obviously it's modern vintage but last time l saw him (he lives with his mum) he was sporting a brown 90s Nike sweat, matching brown Jordans and a pair of grey widish Carharts. He was going on about old 501's and what should l look for etc and so l threw him my old FW47 601xx which were tts and now he absolutely loves them.

So my point is that it's all swings and roundabouts,  patience is a virtue? or something of that nature.

When my kid was little and more impressionable, jeans were just impractical for the outdoor lifestyle we had, if we did dress him in them, they instantly got wet, muddy, cold and uncomfortable.. now he’s older and living a more urban lifestyle he still associates them with being uncomfortable.. he’s moved onto loose fitting pants with a short inseam, at 5’8” they sit just above his AJs.. he’s also got a pair of combats and these things from Uniqlo called combat-joggers, just combats with a drawstring waist... most of his friends are the same.. but as you say Doc.. our neighbours kids at 16 and 19.. it’s baggy vintage all the way.

I think we’ve just got to leave the kids to it.. I’m sure they know 100x more about current trends than the middle aged diehards in our denim support community who were last considered fashionable in 2009 :D

It seems to be the silliest thing to suggest that children should be copies of ourselves. Luckily, I have two girls who choose what they want to wear, they don't ask me.

It would be a suitable punishment to replace the naughty step..

”if you don’t behave yourself I’m going to dress you like your dad”

“No mum pleeeease, I promise I’ll be good”

“Right that’s it, I’ve had enough.. where are the 21oz Iron Hearts”

”if you don’t change your tune, I’ll get the 3lb wallet and chain”
